i watched it and my life has changed,for the good knowing this secret,and yes it works EVERY time with practice and understanding.

And by the posts, it sounds like the premise for this 'secret' is the same sort of material that many different practices and religions use, albeit in the form of prayer or ritual, magic if you will. Intention is a powerful thing, and visualizations have done some pretty amazing things for certain folk at times.

I was lucky enough to see the movie. Very nicely done and entertaining. Should have downloaded it when the link was good.
I don't remember the secret exactly word for word . I should 'cause it's simple. Here is the approximate.
The law of attraction. All things around you are attracted to you like moth to a flame.
There are 3 simple rules (Now confused with 3 wishes from the genie in the lamp)
1-Want something (Wish for it)
2-Visualise having it and bringing you joy (Frequently)
3-Recieve it (If you are not ready to receive it, you won’t)
The universe will provide as long as you don‘t sit on your ass expecting things to fall on your lap (Kinda like praying for winning the lottery without buying a ticket).
It also talks about bad things coming back at you as the universe doesn’t know the difference between good or bad things you may unknowingly wish for. If it creates an emotional response from you, it will provide it to you. Good or bad. I hate having debts, it makes me angry… Bad. I love having debts, it makes me happy… Worse.
They talk about the possibility of competing wishes in the universe’s wish response system. They say there is no competition or conflict between each individual people’s wishes and that the resource is infinite. Are they smoking the same dope as the people who thought we’d have oil forever? That’s where I don’t agree. I mean, if there is only one prize for one winner then, forcibly, only one person will get that particular wish. One gets something, another loses something… The reality of our dualistic system. There’s no such thing as a free miracle.
The system is also reinforced within groups. (Religion, cults, friends) …
They also explain that we were made to believe, by the people who’ve known the secret for generations, that to have something you must work very hard at it by working for, you guessed it, the people who know the secret. Creating a system of depressed people enslaved by bad emotional responses. The kind of people and emotions the universe would only provide bad things to.
That all I can think of right now. That’s basically the movie.

Thanks for the transcript. My roomate thought of that exact thing before he left for phili for the summer. We were both high, it was great, but I don't think that is a universal secret. I told him the same. I think it's more of a universal truth. It's just a universal law.
i bought the dvd woohoo it ships from chicago soo it only took like 3 days to get to cincinnati for me... I like the one thing some lady from the teachings of abrahm said....
She said we are projections of source energy from the universe... kind of makes you wonder... what else could we be if we are aware of ourselves, if you are aware of it and if you can control it then you have to be connected to the source in some way or another. It reminds me of the programs in the matrix. If they dont have a purpose they go back to the source ie the computer mainframe or whatever. They are basically the same thing we are, pure energy or information. Our bodies are just really really complex carbon robots and we are just source energy from the universe controlling it... so pretty much we are uber leet invincible energy from the universe and not stupid sacks of meat... death means nothing... ponder that for a while...

While you are waiting for that video, check out the other movie: "What the bleep do we know?" It's about universe, life, emotions and a load of other stuff. Very deep and quite educational. Definitely nice to know that there are people who think like that. Within the first 5-10 minutes you may hear some thoughts that are pretty cool, if not life changing, especially for people who did not think about such things before :P
That is a copyrighted movie, so there's no link to watch it off the net, you can rent it out, watch it in theaters or download it off peer to peer, your choice...
Anyways, the idea of beliefs changing the universe is pretty old, I've heard it many times, and each new time I hear it, the concept is being more clearly defined. I and even got some results a few times. Still, it is very hard to maintain that "I believe" confident state, as you cant just make stuff fly around the room to prove it to yourself once and for all. Even if you manage to get the stuff flying, the doubt will come soon.
An example: 2-3 years ago I was sitting in a school auditorium thinking of magic and belief and stuff. I wanted to try telekinesis, so I focused on the big banner saying "National Honors Society" hanging above the stage. I imagined it falling on hte stage and making a loud "bang". I spent like 3-4 min focusing on this intent. Guess what? Nothing happens, but within 5 minutes two guys come to the stage and start lowering the banner (it was hanging there for weeks). In the process they screw up and the big torch thingie that was in the middle of the banner falls to the floor making a quite loud "bang".... I was pretty surprised, and I dont know if I influenced that event with my intention in any way. What occured to me later is the amount of blanks in my formulation of intent - all I wanted was for the banner to fall down, not when or how or any other conditions...
There are other things, but they are too small and insignificant compared to that... The bad thing is - that event did nothing for my doubt, it is still there :(
Another thing that I thought of lately - this whole "have faith and change the universe" thing is one big loop - say you are trying to make the lamp on your desk levitate. In order to do that you believe that the lamp can levitate, you imagine it do so, but why are you doing that? Just to eliminate your doubt... So you are driven to believe by doubt...
I dont know what happens when you are driven to believe by pure need, guess that's when miracles happen, and even if they do, they are very likely to come in disguise, still leaving you guessing.... :(
heh, i used to be a really hardcore christian (when i was like 6-7), since i was so young and had been brought up being told "anything within reason is possible with jesus if you believe beyond a doubt it is", so with this knowledge I was ALWAYS praying to jesus to do stuff for me (like one time i was going to ask my mom if I could stay up longer [she ABSOLUTELY NEVER let me stay up late] so i prayed and I was like "please let my mom let me stay up later [I even specified the number of minutes (30) and then i walk in there totally beyond a doubt believing that she will let me stay up for 30 more minutes and guess what? without my saying anything about the specified time (I just said "can I stay up later tonight) she was like "ok but just 30 minutes" and then i walked in my room not the least bit surprised it had worked... i always used to this like 5 times a day, I used to tell myself "its like i have a gameshark for life" (:P)Quote:

that's pretty F8ed up if you ask me, there's absolutely no possible way that it could have worked so many times (like 90% of the time, and the results were uncanny, [like the example i just told you with the "30 minutes", there were many times like that])
anyway ever since i unbecame a "christian" I've always thought about that, the conclusion i came to is pretty much what this movie is apparently talking about

BillyBob you might be wrong about the christainity thing because im a christain and i have learnt quite a lot about it and that pray you said seemed to me a bit of a selfish one and doing it 5 times a day seems more like the LoA then god.
I think i believe in both in god and LoA. That way i can get the best of both worlds. Me doing things and my God doing things. I will always have a helping hand to hold on to me. :D
Any way i think its possible to use both and i bet many people will say you can't

I haven't believed in God in a long time :P I tried to get back into it once but I just think too much to believe that, but i have retained my fluent knowledge of that one book...
as far as i can tell your supposed to be extremely self centered to use this thing in the movie, thus unless you want to go against your religion your going to have to use one or the other....
Actually if you think about it, why would you need some crappy secret of the universe if you have "the creator of the universe" listening and answering to your every whim?

Ok only watching the first 15 minutes of it. it does seem quite a good way to make your life better and in many ways its not selfish. For example; if you wanted to save the world and you used the law of attraction then it isnt selfish. Another example is that you want to have a better life and to help those around you but you can't help people around you because your having a bad life. So you use the laws of attraction to make your life better then help people around you live's better then its not selfish.
There is one thing though, if some one who miss uses this law then the universe could collspase on it self for a person might want to destroy the universe.
I think god and the laws of attraction can both excist. For all we know God give us this law to make a better universe and that could be heaven.
Must see all the film first so if i said anything wrong then please tell me.

I saw a bit of the movie "what the bleep do we know?" and I know that with quantum physics the world is turned upside down. Elections and protons and neutrons sometimes do RANDOM things which may seem not very important for some but to scientists they are flabbergasted. Everything was thought of to have a purpose and with a little math we can calculate why I ate what I did this morning. If you think about it, random is impossible by physics, biology, chemistry and all their theories
quantum physics says that random may be possible, OR, that there is something affecting us that we dont know about.
It's a big form of placebo effects. If you believe you are taking cold medicine and it's really sugar pills, (and some people are more prone to being affected by placebos than others) you will still believe, and sometimes even exibit, less symptoms of a cold. It's more of a perception thing in a way. If you LOOK for something you are bound to find it.
So can our mind affect others, or is it our mind affecting ourselves, which is in turn affecting others? It's all in perception I think.
I'm about to watch the movie The Secret, and am excited. I saw What the bleep do we know? too, and it was a good movie, so I have The Secret is just as good.
Hey, I just saw the movie, and loved every minute. 8) Other than the first couple minutes, which I found were freakily over-dramatized, it was excellent. I will put this law of attraction to the test, and see what it brings me. Once I heard about the Law of Attraction and everything, and thought back, I realized how true it is. The secret is right under our noses, and most of us never realize it. That movie made me really giddy too. I actually broke into song multiple times during the movie and had to rewind a bit.
Used the secret today and it worked, but, it's not a secret. I've been doing this since I was a kid...now I just have a name for it. Kind of like lucid dreaming actually.
