What if everyone in the world used the secret at the same time to visualize the same thing... what do you think would happen. Think about it... everyone visualizes this world a certain way and it stays that way because the majority of the world believes truly that this is all there is. If only everyone knew the truth...

Christianity believes in an omnipresent God, the creator of everything that is apart of the natural world and how it functions. The craziest thing about this belief is that so long as we can view something as apart of the natural way of the universe, Christianity can associate it with God. So if a Christian believes in the Secret of the Universe - they are *or would theoritically believe* that this design of attraction was designed by God.
there are a lot of angel websites and some angel messages go on to say you that if youre going out of your way to ASK for a miracle, you also have to believe in the miracle. that even if you ask for the miracle but DOUBT it every time, you are..wasting your time and will be frustrated. according to the angel website, an angel has no power to give you such a miracle if you doubt it. this is similiar to the secret in that saying "I will be rich" every day of your life is a waste if you dont believe what you are saying.
so where are the two different? Well Christianity and the Secret is different in that, first and foremost, Christianity always asks you to ask God. That you are to ask honestly what you trully desire and have faith that God will answer. In Christianity its concider dangerous asking 'another' becuase there are dark forces at work who will take advantage of your words. Whether to make you suffer, or others.
In a Christian point of view, God will not make you rich if the end result is thousands of suffering under payed chinese slave-workers. The secret, as the video even states is NOT biased. The second big difference is Christians are supposed to only ask for heavenly goods and look for heavenly goods, not fancy cars, oversized houses and getting insanely rich.

That aside. I dont doubt the secret. I've been feeling lately that just believing is a powerfull tool. I've always felt that if you are negetive, bad things happen to you. I've always felt that if you are positive, good things happen to you.
What I don't like about the secret or other similiar things to it thats been popping up, is that its ALWAYS ALWAYS about money. What I dont like is how people USE the secret. What I dont like are people who make millions selling the secret.......and I should know, my mom has been into this sorta stuff for years.
The video goes on to claim that the top 1% *the Rich* are rich becuase of the secret. I hate the burst the videos bubble the rich are rich becuase the poor slave and wipe their arses. And the Rich only care about increasing their salery. The rich are rich becuase they put more into their pockets and take out of ours. Minimum wage should be more like $8 in america, not $5...and thats saying A LOT............that also means those work at $10 an hour are barely above the REAL minimum wage. But congressmen and CEOs have had no problem increasing, even tripling their pay at times. The gap between the rich and middleclass is still growing.
And if especially the secret lands you a job as CEO of Walmart, you might as well put the numbers 666 on your forehead >_>

juroara i now what you mean. Im a christian and believe that there is a god and god made the law of attraction because he made the galaxy but i also believe that to help others we first must help ourselves. Like i said on the previous post i had put dwon i said that if at first we must save the world we first must know the smarts and the strengh to get there.
In money wise, I wouldn't being a million heir but i don't want the love of money because i would give more then 10% of what i earn to charitys and not well off churches. Like i say, To help others we first must help ourselves and whats the best way then acturly being rich then giving it to the poor.
Through this, it seems resonible to use the LoA.
I mean i have acne and i hate it and at the momenty im using the LoA and god and the galaxy has already given me the answer (pills) and so all i have to do now is to recive it (go out and get the pills). There also a non-selfish reason to it. People make fun of me and i'm not the weakest of the weakest and so my friends have to stick up for me. So i'm also getting ride of my acne to lift the burden of my friends.
Any selfish act can turn into a non-selfish act just like that.
lol, deciding if an act is selfish cant be decided by yourself, for example, I could say "I'm going to use the law of attraction to give me 500 billion dollars. this isn't selfish though, I'm actually only wanting the money so people wont be tempted by it"

PS. ridding yourself of acne wouldn't be selfish at all even if it wasn't "burdening my friends", it wont hurt anybody if you rid yourself of acne, thus its not selfish in any respect

that was totally stupid, its not like it was some "secret" it just told you what you already knew (at least I hope you already knew)
If you sit in a state of self pity you wont get anywhere, but if you open up your mind to the possibility of a better life then of course your eventually going to find a way to get there (note the use of the word you, you alone will think up a way to make money, or to get a better relationship. its not like there's some magical being fulfilling all your wishes)
anyway most of the amazing stuff that they talked about everyone knows (scientists and physicians included), if you think about healing yourself then your a) going to get healed and live to tell your story or B) die and not tell your story of how "the secret" saved you (note: i'm not saying thinking about healing yourself doesnt work, its been proven that it does via placebos, but its not like its some 100% meathod. placebos dont always work)

Well, I tried visualizing, more for fun than anything else, and every single time (about twice daily), I swear to God the T has pulled up just as I approached the platform.
Coincidence? Maybe. But I'll tell you what, I'm going to keep visualizing for a while.

I kind of liked it, but mostly just because it coincides with a worldview that I've been forming for myself. I don't buy a lot of what was thrown around in there, but some of it is just plain old healthy.

I watched the video, and it basically confirms what I've already known. It's all about "faith". Faith is the strongest weapon we as human beings have. If you have faith and 0 doubt, ANYTHING is possible. I mean think about it, we are conscious beings, aware of our physical vessel. Our body serves US, we don't serve our body. Since I have "opened" my mind a few years back, I really take notice of the little moments in life, that most would call co-incidence. I personally don't believe in co-incidence anymore, and all my life I have questioned it. I just have seen to many weird, (all the pieces falling into place) too many times. Then there's the moments where I will be doing something, and think that something specific is going to happen, and immediatly it happens. So with me thinking it happened, did I cause it to happen, or was I somehow informed of it happening? I would like to think that it was the latter.
Negativity and self-pity will suck you dry and leave you barren, and won't even care. Sometimes it's very hard to fight it off, but you got to! Change your thoughts to change your emotions, anything to quit meditating on negative emotions and thoughts.

You knew about it. do not believe it, so the movie is dumb because it preaches something you don't agree with. I thought you found it stupid to teach something you thought was widely known.
There is an inkling of my views on the subject in my synopsis. I tried not to judge the video on the message but rather on the delivery. I find it’s well put together. Though, like I said in my 1st post, I don’t exactly agree with it. I surely do not like the enfaces on money. Sounds more like an infomercial with no product. The fact that you have to pay to view it on the original site does not help the matter and the message is lost by the unfortunate enfaces on money. But if it works for you and does not rob me or anyone of anything than I cannot discredit it. Just like I would not discredit the effect of placebos. I mean does it really help to force someone to believe the placebo should not work and therefore does not work and therefore negating the effect of the “unknown” power that contributed in the effect (if an effect did occur)?. The fact that this power is from without or from within is unproven and probably un-provable. The fact is we only can observe the observable but truly have now idea of the true source of the observable. Heck we are longer sure if the observable is.
I did meet some of the people in the video in person at a conference a few years back and, to be honest, I got a bad vide off one of them. Something I somehow was not prepared to (and probably would never) trust. I mean, the video does not do it justice; one of the guy is (hella) scary (in an intangible way) when you meet face to face… But hey, that’s just me. I just don’t like powerful people wishing for more power.
You claim it is as nothing to do with the universe but only yourself (At least that‘s what I got from you). Ummm. Reality is not a lucid dream (well the jury is still out on that one), if it was then you’d get everything you’d want instantaneously and therefore you’d never depend on the universe to provide but only your self (mind). If you want something in this reality, you must interact with the universe in order to get it. Yes you must set your mind on a goal before you can ever think of getting somewhere. And definitively, you need to actively act on what is required to achieve otherwise it is pointless. Adding hope and trust to the equation to me is not a stupid thing. It is key. It’s all analogies. God, Genies, Atoms and stuff… To each his own. You know about chaos theory supporting the growing old belief that we are not really here (matter is an illusion) right? You know about religions right? You know of the duality of the mind right? You know what these analogies are for right?
Are you really alone? No, there are many of us, so, obviously we are not alone, we are many. Do you really know more than all of us to make your claim as certitude. Doubtful. There is only one chance in 6.1 billion that your view (or mine) is the best view.
I was young enough to believe that everything was possible. I was foolish enough to believe what I’ve been taught. Now I am old enough to know I was once young and foolish but wise enough to know I needed to be.
My intent is not to bash your beliefs, but to remind you of being mindful of beliefs period. Putting stuff in the trash not knowing what it is might be costly (What‘s that old painting… Who‘s Picasso anyway… Trash it).

I used to think that we were alone, but when i started thinking about it, everything is way too great for there not to be something more to life. Like how did the universe even start? You probably believe in the big bang and i do too but when the scientists calculated it, it turned out to be a miracle that it happened the way it did and created planets. Anyway, i just believe that it was more than just, we randomly appeared on a planet. I still dont believe in the traditional god by no means and i find a lot of the stories in the bible rediculous. (no offense) Matter of fact, I dont believe in "a god" at all. I just believe theres something more, whatever it is. And i partly believe this law of attraction thing. Not just that you find a way, but things around you find a way.
the best explanation of our creation that I've heard so far is that theres some mastermind genius that has created a computer program that's tracking how life progresses with set rules backing up every action, and we, part of its program have become self conscious like them, and have begun to create our own lesser programs to diagram our universe and how it was created (computers) :PQuote:

and yeah, sorry about saying that the movie was stupid, but I wasn't too happy after watching it for an hour 1/2 trying my hardest to see some deeper meaning of what they were saying and only hearing them say the same thing over and over. after about the 30 minute mark the movies just them drilling it into your head :P

as an overview of all my posts (without the unhappiness of watching 3 hrs of movies fueling it):
do watch this movie, but I wouldn't take anything they say as being because of "the universe", take it as being due to you. the methods they talk about are good ways of putting yourself in good moods no matter what, and also helping you to see an opportunity when it presents itself. (because they're always there, you just need to learn to see them)

The computer analogy, yes, like the movie “The 13th floor”. Not an unlikely concept.
I am a computer programmer and the analogy is relatable to me.
What blew my mind as a developer was: cells are created based on DNA code. That code is read by RNA (decoding machines or, more accurately, software) whose structure is similar to DNA. The RNA creates the cell based on DNA software. Kinda like software interpreting software to produce concrete (to us) output. What tells the RNA how to act is something else and so on and so on. DNA contains multiple sections that the RNA skips or not depending on what cell it's in. RNA is simple code. Very small piece of code. DNA is large, includes code that is read all the time, code that is read sometimes and code that is never read (possibly never). At what level is the computer hardware located is elusive to us. Imagine intelligent software that can figure out they are software and how to write software that can do the same. Be able to create computer hardware to run software to do the same thing is possible as well. We can visualise what the computer that runs the software we write looks like. We just can’t visualise the computer that runs us as we have never seen it. The computer is not intelligent or conscious (it just does what the software tells it to do). What created the computer might be conscious (or not) and maybe even omnipotent (or not). Who’s knows.
In computing, you don’t need to be all mighty to create all mighty software. I just came across the theory that is so simple but so powerful that with enough computing power I could write a simple 20 line piece of code that would enventually create everything. Including the 20 line piece of code I wrote. That is crazy.
So, I guess my point is: Who knows? We can’t say anything for sure and we hate that.

If I want a 4.0 GPA semester, no matter how much I sit there and enivision the end result of recieving that 4.0, it isn't happening unless I make it happen myself. Constantly thinking about the end result will motivate me to try hard enough to get that result.
I'm glad I saw this movie. It should help me raise my first year 2.8
Thanks for the link. I thought it was a pretty good movie, and a much needed pick me up. Most of the things that the movie talked about I knew, but the film brought it together nicely. It is mostly about the power of thought, and the way it affects your life. If you don't have an open mind, or think anything mystic or not scientific is a load of new age BS, then this is not the movie for you. I think you have to take it for what it is, a movie. It is shot like a movie, and you can tell it actually had a budget. That is probably why they charge people to see it on their site; they actually spent money making it. The beginning is a bit dramatic, but again, it is a movie. It does deal more with money than I'd like. But it seems like the point of this movie is to bring a very abstract concept to the average person. So the fact that they use money and relationship examples makes sense to me, because those are the things that the average person is concerned with. All in all, I recommend this movie to anyone that likes films like Waking Life or What the Bleep and is open to the possibility that everything isn't as it seems and even with all of our science and technology, the human race has a lot to learn about ourselves and out universe. The LOA, visualization, and positive thinking have done wonderful things in my life. I've gotten away from that, and I found this thread and movie at the perfect time.
