Need A Little Infomation Please

I think I need to work a little on dream recall, because I havn't remembered a dream, even non-lucid ones for many weeks. Yesterday I remembered like 2 secounds of a dream. It was storming out, I went to bed. I just remembered hearing something about a servear storm, and our mouths dropping. That's it.

So let me get this straight,

I should set my alarm at least 4-5 hours after i go to bed. Wake up when alarm goes off, Possible get a drink or what ever, and go back to bed. And it should eventually help me dream recall a little better?

do u have a dream journal even though i dont i am still able to remember my dreams start writing a dream journal i have can remember the dreams u have

No, what you list is something like a WBTB technique, not a dream recall technique.

To recall more dreams give yourself a suggestion to wake up after every dream and remember it. Every time you wake up think about the dream you just had, try not to snap your attention to the RL so fast.

Drinking water helps cause sometimes it makes you wake up for a bathroom break.

Dream journals help you develop the continuous memory of your dreams.

The rest depends on whether you had a good dream recall before or if you are starting from scratch.

that sounds like wake-back to bed to me, and i dont think that would really help you remember your dreams besides the chance of your alarm waking you up while your dreaming (its easier to remember dreams if woken up during them).

However, there are somethings you can do to improve you recall. Such as suggestion before you go to bed (eg. right before bed tell yourself "i will remember my dreams". writing this down works well for some people). You could take some vitamin b6 to increase your dream vividness and recall. There are many other dream herbs and supplements you can discover by doing a search on this forum.

I had a friend who tried all the methods and could never remember any of his dreams. Until the day i found a thread on this site suggesting to take a multivitamin to increase dream recall. He did this and on the very first night he remembered two dreams and those two, he said, were very vivid.

1) Try to take some vitamin B complex (b6, b12, etc)
2) At least have a DJ and update it EVERY MORNING. Even if you don't recall anything.
3) Say to yourself about 20-50 times full of confidence: "Tonight I will remember a lot of my dreams".
4) You could set your alarm for an hour earlier than you'd usually wake up, then when you wake up, you'll probably recall a dream. Go back to sleep. As soon as you wake up from that, you'll most likely recall a dream ;)

In fact, you should rely less on alarm clocks, which might blast away your dream memory -- the shock of abruptly waking up from the trauma of too much noise -- and you should depend rather on the more subtle influence of needing to go to the bathroom. Drink A LOT of water before going to bed, and then more water every time you need to get up. This way you will awake at the end of most every REM Cycle.

Of course, for this method not to enervate you with so many awakenings throughout the night, you must be able to fall asleep quickly. This requires that you live well and have a clean conscience.

The funny thing is, When I set my alarm for 5 hours later, I tend to wake up everytime, 10 minutes befor it went off. I think it's a bit creepy, but whatever :)

It's probably because of your bioclock.
You want to wake up at that time and thus you set your alarm. The suggestion is also printed in your mind though, so your mind also wakes you up around that time. ;)

I had that too in the beginning.

the most important key to remembering my dreams is to NOT MOVE upon awakening during the night or start thinking about other shit immediately.

tell yourself during the day, and before falling asleep "whenever i wake, i will remain completely still, and allow my dream to show itself".

setting an alarm is counter-productive IMO.

So many different things to try.

1. Some say drink alot of water
2. Some say set alarm clock
3. Some say when you wake up, think about nothing and don't move.

Well, I'm going to sleep now. But you can't expect it to happend first time as they say. So i'll give it a shot :)
