I'm me..but good Lord, I'm a show off!
I'm usually much like my waking self in LDs. The main differences are like others have said in that I feel much less fear or concern. But I'm generally courteous and considerate towards other DCs. However, my freedom lets me do things I wouldn't ever do in real life.
Hehe, I agree with NeAvO. It's not that we can't figure your statements out, it's just annoying that so many people don't take the time to write things out. I mean, how much longer does this: "you" take to type than this: "u". Standard abbreviations and those used at this site (the dream related ones) are plenty acceptable. All the IM speak crap does get annoying rather quickly though.
You're not the only one who does it so I don't think it was really an attack on you, per sé. But it does demonstrate a level of laziness.
I don't see why thats a problem if everyone understands it especially cause it takes less time but since everyone seems to be complaining about it i won't use abbreviations anymore.
It's like showing up to a wedding in cut-offs and a tank top. You still showed up, which definitely means something. But you didn't bother to put forth the minor effort required to dress for the occasion.
Don't feel bad. It's a topic that comes up every so often then quickly fades into the ether. You just happened to be this week's target and NeAvO just happens to be today's spotter. I joined in the fun because it always annoys me when people use that 'lazy English'. But who am I? Don't worry about what I say on the matter.
It's really only advice to members in general: If you use proper words, grammar and syntax you'll find yourself being taken more seriously.
[QUOTE=ld master;497769]In ld's do u find u are the same person u are in rl or do u find u are more confident, free, feel a sense of power etc..[i
if you are in a lucid dream you willl know that everyone around are dreamcharacters. you would be different around dreamcharacters then real people surely?
I'm not the same person as awake. I don't fear nearly as much, and I feel much more confident. And I also feel much more free.
Not if you are at a low level of lucidity. Just because you know you're dreaming doesn't mean that you know or understand that everything around you are constructs of your own mind. Just read any members' dream journal and you'll see what I mean.
I'll assume you aren't very experienced with LDing. But, trust me, you'll find out soon enough that being lucid doesn't always mean what you think it might. You can know that you are dreaming yet be convinced that everything around you is absolutely real, including your dream characters. That's partly why so many people spend time trying to convince DCs that they are dreaming: because they believe those DCs to be actual people.
Dream logic is not the same thing as waking logic.
