Quick question...
Do you think that sleeping with the television turned on with a very low background volume could assist lucid dreams?
nahhh, but what do i kno
I sleep with television on every night, is this effecting why I’m not lucid dreaming?
most likely not
If you are in a light sleep the sound from the TV can often transfer into your dreamworld and your brain will try to create believable or bizarre situations about where the sound is coming from. I turn my TV off, as it can become frustrating, even the changing levels of light can be annoying - plus, there are concerns about the level of radiation that emits from televisions.
I've fallen into a dream with the TV on before - although not a lucid dream, but I wasn't consciously trying. I say give it a shot and let us know! :D
I hate leaving the TV on!!! Whatever is happening on there happens in my dreams... firetrucks, hamburgers, ambulances, fashion shows, floods, rock singers! You name it. What I have noticed is that I've never gone lucid with the TV on. It seems to distract my brain, and I don't reach a deep enough sleep to do it.
I hate sleeping with the tv on. My mom does all the time. She never has lucids, but has told me many times that she dreams about what she is hearing on the tv, and that she tends not to watch the news or anything discomforting because it can show up in your dreams. :(
I am petrified of tornadoes... I can just imagine falling asleep and then having them do the emergency alert test while I'm dreaming... ahhh!
Oh no, I can't do that. I start dreaming what's on TV. Not necessarily what's on TV, but bits and pieces of what I hear, and it's just gives me odd dreams.
I'm not sure if it would assist with lucid dreams or not.
... what if you made a video of yourself telling you that you were dreaming...
hahaha. may as well just listen to an ipod though, it's easier.
Of course if you could make a video of a group of people telling you that you were dreaming, watch it a few times, and then go to sleep with it on, maybe they'd show up as DCs telling you you are dreaming.
the TV does affect my dreams. Sometimes Fresh Prince will be in my dream (i like nick at nite) and/or someone will be discussing/explaining a topic and in my dream i'll hear what they're saying and it'll play it out
i like sleeping with my tv on a timer and have it turn off after a hour or 2
hmm, maybe.
A few months back I was watching crank yankers on Mtv and that morning I drempt I was listening to Serj Tankian "empty walls" on my ipod. i was danceing around and everything then I woke up and Serj Tankian music video was on the tv.
you could look and see what is coming on later in the night and Try to look for the show in your dream or something
I find it easier to fall alseep with the tv on. The louder it is the more hypnotizing. Once I heard the news when I was asleep, then woke up and heard it again, it felt a bit freakish until I realized where I heard it before...
It almost worked for me once. I was in a light sleep and the key is to use commercials you7 know from that channel as dream signs and if your in a light sleep what there saying on the tv should show up in your dreams
Want to know something I don't understand? If you're dreaming whilst the T.V. is on, someone is being interviewed, the dream character's mouth is in perfect sync with the person on T.V.
How is this possible? This must that your mind can someone see (not physically) what the person is saying! But how?
For example, I was upstairs once in my room asleep whilst I could hear the T.V. really loud downstairs, G.M.T.V. is on, I could hear them talking. In my dream I was walking up the set of stairs and then G.M.T.V. automatically starts stalking when I start walking up the stairs. This isn't exactly the same thing though. I don't understand, I know there's more perfect examples of dreams that I can't remember.
I don't know about lucid dreams, But it sure makes me have weird dreams.........
Has anyone tried this?
I used to fall asleep to movies all the time but I found that it was harder to remember my dreams in the morning. I don't sleep with the tv anymore.
Chloe, you just gave me an awesome idea. Boring movies are an excellent way to get lucid! Tvild, I can imagine it now! :D
dont leave the tv on.... energy deprivation!!!
i usually fall asleep with the tv on but the sound off completely, would the light/radiation from the tv effect me at all?
dont. i had a dream last year when i had a tv in my room it went like this:
i was in a big house at a party. when i heard screaming from down the road (really the whistle in a footy game) i just contined partying when suddenly it came louder and closer. and again. and again. suddenly the screaming is right outside. the door bangs when i hear a man trying to get in (and kill me as usal) he was swearing and banging. i jump against the door and lock it i knew it was a not long before he got in. i insructed every one to get into the man hole. then he got in and i woke up.
um. "like always"?????
