I started the Journal process two days ago, and I only got fragments. Even then, I'm not sure if it was what I dreamt about, as it's almost as if I never dreamt during the sleep.
Could you guys give me some tips to get better at recalling? I try the message method, it's not quite working...
EDIT: Nevermind! I'm not doing that bad, as I remembered a dream I did last night. However, a few ways to get multiple dreams at once could be a nice idea, though.
Stay perfectly still in bed with your eyes closed a few minutes after you wake up and all of your dreams should come back because your body and mind is preparing to go back into a dream.

It doesn't seem to help much, because my body knows it's a school day, and as such, tries to get me up... ><
Also, I tried telling myself to wake up after each cycle, but doesn't get much success, because at times, I forget to tell myself to wake up to remember my dreams...
Should I attempt it only on non-school days? Or is there a trick to get the feeling off?
I really can't say if that works for everyone and I wouldn't say that this substance is something for everyone, but after intense self-experiments with S. divinorum I was able to recall dreams perfectly every night for about two months after stopping the intake. At that time I also learned that I dream the whole night, because I could follow dreams seamlessly for hours. I wouldn't say I had much recreative sleep during that two months though. At some points it seemed too much to bear and I'm glad it was a temporary effect. There wasn't a night that I didn't wake up soaked with sweat and a rapidly beating heart.
If you think you must try that too, inform yourself amply and handle that substance with the utmost respect. If you have any doubt, don't do it. If you suffer or suffered from any mental problems, don't do it. That plant has a lot more facets than most would think.
Psy, I will add my voice to your disclaimer. Salvia is a powerful drug and can seriously screw up your brain chemistry. Don't F* with it unless you know what you are doing.

My preachy advice is to steer clear of it no matter how much you think you know. I used to be involved with the Shulgin/ Erowid crowd. I have friends that ended up in mental institutions, jail, and dead from this stuff. Personally, I don't know why its not a scheduled drug.

Actually that is not known. The receptors Salvinorin A works on are distributed over the whole body. It is totally unknown how Salvinorin A works and it's very different - both chemically and in its effects - from known psychedelics. Also there is no case known where Salvia "screwed" someone "up" permanently. Even the most severe case I've ever heard about (and talked to) - he really didn't act responsibly - is now thankful for what he learned. I don't want to conceal that Salvia can be extremely frightening at times, but the effect duration is only between 5 to 10 minutes and Salvia is not psychoactive in a way that it influences emotions - of course what you perceive surely can.Quote:

If you want examples of how not to do it, you'll find plenty on Youtube. What is done there is very respectless to the people that are given Salvia for the first time using an insane (but still physically safe) extracted dose by a "friend" that thinks it's funny to watch. What those "friends" do is sadistic and completely out of context, nothing more. Such behavior should be punishable. It's not the fault of the tool (Salvia) if someone abuses it. I can imagine what the people taking it unpreparedly and in an inadequate setting perceive and that they are completely overwhelmed and thrown off balance.

I tried to preface my response with a "This is only my opinion based on experience," but I know it still comes off a little preachy. Sorry about that, but like I mentioned, I have considerable experience with this so I feel comfortable saying it. And remember that propaganda works both ways, so be careful that you are not just researching to reinforce what you want to hear.
Either way, this is really not the place to discuss this, so maybe we should move this discussion elsewhere, or just stick to PMs :)
It's a nice thing to know, but I don't quite want to start using drugs just for dream recall... are there any other known ways to improve my recall than repeating or to use drugs, or maybe drink milk (I already do once a night).

It has all the must know information. If you want to keep it simple, every night tell yourself that you will remember all your dreams. You will naturally wake up after each REM period anyways, so just learn to recognize these midnight awakenings. Lie in bed for a few seconds every time you wake up and think of nothing but remembering your dreams.

Thats all you need the image.. Just keep it in your head, and try to remember the details of the image, zoom in, and you'll remember the rest of the dream bit by bit. Works for me..
Once you get one brief memory or image, try to track backwards from that and you should start getting more. Keep trying to remembre more details of that one image, and what happened before and after it. This should get easier after a few nights.
I guess I have to do it a bit more.
Also, during the day, it's almost as if my mind was continuing my dream, but at the same time, it's not like I dreamt this part, but more as if my mind developed its own follow-up.
Should I still mark it down or is it not something to write in my Journal?
I always write this down too. If you're worried about it confusing it later, you can always write it in a different color, or somehow mark it as afterthoughts.

I'll try again tonight! This time, earlier! Because sometimes the time I go to bed can influence lots of things.
I dont think there is a quick technique to remember dreams but the best i think is just working on it and writing ALL your dreams.

I guess I do around 6 to 8. Sometimes more.
