And also, last night I had a dream (non lucid). It was set in some cty, with quite alot of tall building, its a little blury, but I remember we were being attacked by aliens (ground, not UFOs, i think they were armoured but I don't remember too well). Anyway, the city was partly destroyed, faces were taken off from the sides of some buildings, giving a view of the city, but the buildings were intact, and some sides/rooms were completely fine. Basically certain sides of certain buildings were destroyed and had no walls.

This could be another theme, maybe part of the history. It also creates high points. I was thinking something like (this is rough and would probbably need some changes, if used at all) the city was attacked, I don't know what by, it could be anything. But the edges of a certain side of the city could be damaged, it could be almost completely deserted and a more dangerous part of the world (Wild dogs, strange creatures, any kind of enemies).

Maybe this attack was somehow caused by the technology, and this is another reason some people choose to stay in the medieval time? I don't know, its just an idea, but I like having the idea of a 'Danger zone' and also some high strategic points, with a good view. But I wouldn't want half of the city being lke this, if this was used, it would just be a small part of the city.



Oh yeah and in the dream I had a nice laser rifle, long range, like the beam rifle from the game Halo :D

That's some good ideas there, the first one sounds a bit too complex to be remembered while in a dream, I think. What I'm guessing is just that the more medieval the characters are, something deep inside us will also automatically make them more ninja.

I like the enviroment idea :D

Naw! As I see it, LucidRage never got to work fully, only Oneironaut actually tried to get there, and the website didn't work either. So bumping it is great!
Actually, I think there should be more Lucid RPG's like that, after Rage, it's just too awesome to lose!

LucidRage is more of a challenge like 'dream game'. He made an enviroment (level) and we have to beat it.
This thread is more in the way of getting characters up, and meeting the characters in dream.

When LucidRage succeeds, and is over, I think the maker of it should make a poll of the next challenge. (I've already one in mind! (& in .txt file.) >: D)

Ceonsamea, your character first brought into my mind Altair, the main character from the video game Assassin's Creed. An expert at free running, moving swiftly and gently, letting no obstacles get in your way while doing it with style. The weaponry also resembles what he uses, and most of the plot is set in the medieval age. So yeah, if you know the character, I'm guessin' something like that right?

Maeni.. seeing as your character isn't human, there can always be that drama of you not fully trusting the humans or vice-versa. Your character could very well be a hunter/explorer, and useful as a spy and such. Also, you could have an instinctual knowledge of nature and the outside world, which is what gives you your greatest advantage, while as for city life you could be somewhat unaccostumed to.

Maniak - Your character undoubtedly fits as a charismatic and sly assassin/theif, soldier of fortune or anything along those lines. I see your character making sly remarks, maybe somewhat cynical, able to sweet-talk through various situations without resorting to violence if possible.

So yeah, something sweet and simple, that eventually will turn into a great story.

I agree with all you said. Funny you said it, when I read your description Ceonsamea, I also thought of Altair.

But, well.. I agree!

Well, I recently got into parkour/free runing, so my character is based on that, and the game Assassins Creed uses these things alot, so that explains the similarity. And for combat I allways love technique rather than brute strength, and there isn't alot of technique in ranged combat.

In real life I only recently started parkour/free running, so just the basics, but I guess I will be doing the advanced stuff if I get into my character in this world, hehe.

And about the dying, I will try not to die, but what happens if you do? Although I agree, if you just respawned there would be less reason to avoid death. But the point is you still might die, so then what?

I think if someone dies, they should wake up, for 2 reasons.

1.) There are some people that wake involintarily when they die.

2.) It'll be more like a game over. :P

Or just go to another dream :<

But really, if it's a lucid dream, wouldn't it be hard to just die, just like that?
Surely, you could find away out of it...

Oh my bad Mini-Man, I guess I didn't notice your character descrip for some reason, but well, now you developed him some more so that's real good, I have a solid impression of your character now.

And Chayba, we weren't exactly meaning to "meet" each other in dreams, we were talking of how we could each have our own LD and then connect the stories together from what we had dreamed.

And to Maeni, I have never been in combat in a LD so I have no idea if its hard to die, but it would be interesting to get into combat, can't believe I haven't done that already :/
If its hard to die while lucid then I guess thats the problem solved.

short answer: sometimes I roleplay a celebrity, go to VIP clubs, junk like that ;)

Some believe it's possible, which is called Shared Dreaming, I haven't tried it, nor do I believe it. This is just trying to get into the same enviroments with the same characters. It's like dreaming of anyone else, you can meet your mother in your dreams, but your mother isn't really there.

Any idea when an world/map/story will be available? :P I'm anxious... I'd be willing to help, too.

oh and I'm going to change my characters middle/last name so it's not so long, and also not my great grandfather's last name.

It's not official, I just made something that had the things.
Anyways, Skeptikalz is a GM for it, he'll be the one to say if it's good or what changes are needed. Or if something else is better.

Anyways, what I was aiming for is alot of it to be free for the brain. For the subconscious to work with. The time is like present time, but with magic. So you might see anything. Floating islands with an airport perhaps. Insanely tall highways or something.. All this will probably first have to be accepted, then given a location and put up in the big thing.

Good job. All that spare space can be for when people venture beyond the current map, who knows what could be out there?

I might try and get into this world for fun, since its not official yet its more like practice, lets see how I can do trying to get into a world where I have only seen the map, should be interesting.

I think the method used in Paradiso will help alot on getting to this place.

I just need a few things clarified though
1) When we make our character do we actually have to become that character or is he/she just our creation that goes around in peoples dreams and we have to take care of them or something
2) If we do have to be our character can we kill other peoples characters then inform them about it??
3) Is this all about fighting or can we for example have affairs with other characters :wink:

i think getting the characteristics of these different characters would be difficult. I have only had about 40 lucid dreams since joining

Dude I love the little mini map thing..

But yeah alright so the story is in the present time, with magic. Sounds real nice, seeing as it would be easier to conjure a landscape that is similar to what you know in present time, with the only difference being some exaggerated scenarios, but the essence is still familiar.

So yeah, if you all agree on that setting, we could start working something out now.

1) Yeah, we actually become that character and play it out as if we are them.
2) It would destroy the purpose if we were to kill each other's characters, it would just be nicer to keep the story going between the characters instead of "eliminating" them.
3) You can do whatever. It's pretty much just a lucid roleplaying adventure. You can hate someones character, you can love them, do whatever you want as long as when you describe the dream, everyone agrees that it can be applied to the "main" storyline and you just play it out.

Haha, I was actually planning on reenacting a role-play I currently have going in Arcane Arena, with AspiR, in my next lucid dream. Cool idea, Maeni!

But yeah, our priority now is for everyone to agree on a setting, such as the present time with magic. After that is done, we can get to answering the question of HOW or WHY we are where we are in the setting.

I hope everyone agrees :D As I see it, all characters can fit into this one.

I think we should then make a thread with explaination of the idea, how to join, what to do, what it's all about etc. And the map, explaining the setting and story. And then have a database of all other characters.
Lastly, the story itself that will be built on.

By the way, everything outside the line I drew is for people to built. If someone in a dream travels beyond the line, what he/she sees goes on the map. Except if it's... Out of place...
You could even put up other islands if some of us want to get adventurous out of character and want to put the characters into some new place.

Agreed, starting a new thrad is a good idea. Then it can really get started.

Also, I like the setting, present with magic, interesting. I'm looking forward to this.

I don't see one up yet but seeing as this was Maeni's idea we should wait until he creates one.

On the new thread, it'd be nice for everyone to repost their character info immediately, including physical appearance, and background answering HOW they got the "city" they are in, ex. "_____ was traveling the landscape and they just stumbled upon the city" Or/and a WHY ex. "______ heard news of a long lost brother being in the city".

Know what I mean? And be as flexible as you want with it, we'll undoubtedly be able to incorporate it into the story and maybe even as a later "major" plot point for your character.

Yeah skept, it should be left for Maeni to do, I was just saying I would see if he has made one already out of curiosity, I wasn't planning on making it because, as you said, its his idea.
