ALSOOO
last week a man by the name of Albert Hoffman left us.
He was the man who first synthesized LSD or "ACID."
He was a swiss scientist, and had ingested Acid many times for experimental purposes.
And guess what, he lived to 102.
oh, Ok that's good then :)
and ontopic: drugs are terrible, you shouldn't try them.
I wouldn't doubt they would mess up lucidity horribly.
No, and saying so is ignorant. Brain biochemistry is incredibly complex. Even such things as breathing more can affect it. Hallucinogens deal with the neurotransmitters in the brain, tampering the way they'd normally function. Take painkillers, for example: they block the cells' ability to transmit pain neurotransmitters. Hallucinogens have a wider effect on that delicate structure, and for reasons unknown it (supposedly) ruins dream recall. How exactly that happens is unknown and impractical information.
Hitting someone's head with little strength kills more brain cells than any drug could possibly do.
I think it has to do with the state of mind. I can't WILD on command. But when I lay down to go to sleep at night, I can tell if I will be able to WILD or not. There is a certain state of mind where I get hypnagogic imagery easily. If I have that before sleeping I am pretty sure I will have a WILD, but it is random.
I have experience with lucid dreaming after smoking marijuana , and also after drinking alcohol. I do think that marijuana and alcohol make dreams and lucid dreams less likely. However I have had a lucid dream after smoking, drinking, and also both at once. So while it is unlikely you will, it is possible.
I'm so tired.:bedtime:
Good night everyone.
Alcohol is more damaging than marijuana, though marijuana has THC, which is addictive.
Some research claims, that marijuana heightens chances of getting schizophrenia later in life, though I don't actually have the sources right now. Just read it in a newspaper a few months back.
I can dream well when stoned.. but I do find that my brain becomes slightly numb and relaxed and unable to lucid dream well.
i smoke occasionally. when i go to sleep drunk or stoned or both, i can fall asleep a lot quicker than usual. and my mind generally is all over the place and cannot stay focused on breathing or whatever. so i can't WILD. beyond that, my recall is killed in the morning so DILDing doesn't work.
and i don't know what is proven/is not proven about the effects of marijuana but come on, if you SMOKE anything, it has to be bad for you.
i also think alcohol is WAY more dangerous than pot. it causes way more deaths either by alcohol poisoning, driving accidents, or liver disease. i don't think pot screws your life up too much for like 99% of people who do it. i have been doing it for a few years and i don't look like that crack-head picture. the only way it screws you over is if you get caught too many times and you have trouble finding work or something.
Every time I quit smoking pot for a while, I notice my dreams becoming much more vivid and instances of lucidity go way up. I'm sure I have had lucid dreams after smoking pot...but very rarely.
I can't stop laughing about this thread, the people who have never had any experiences and are so proud, then the people who act like they have pounds hidden under their bed. then the normal people who think its fine and/or smoke occasionally.
Lol lost, for the sake of personal improvement, in which category do I fall?
