Let's Break reality, K?

before you read on, make sure you've seen all three matrix films.
Now then, Imagine this.
The Expert Lucid Dreamers here learn to take control of there dream so well, they can spawn stuff in a snap. OK! a lot of people can do that anyway! but what if you spawned the thing in your hand in the dream, and you woke up with it in your hand. Imagine that you could just warp into your mind.*see picture*

So the world itself is like the matrix.
or like you combined the two worlds.
just imagine it.

Why do you think this is possible?

I'm not saying it is not. I just want to know why you think it is.

I don't really think it's impossible, but the fact of it being possible is well..possible.
I mean, remember in the matrix, how if you die in the matrix you die in real life?
I believe the same concept could come in here, but in a way more advanced term.

The Matrix was a movie. Remember, having an open mind does not necessarily mean believing in irrational things.

how do you know what is really irrational and what is not?
that is the true question.
maybe the only reason it's irrational to people now is because it seems too "impossible" and hasn't been tested enough to see real results.

This is my first reply in this forum and I'm already derailing the thread :P. Sorry, it's not my intention. If you want to move this to another thread, or something, just say so.

First of all, we don't know what is rational and what is not.. It could be different for everyone. There could be an alien race billions of miles away that sees things in a totally different way than we do. But that doesn't mean we should adopt their way of thinking, does it? Who am I to say what is rational? Who are you to say it? What we see as rational, whether it is a universal rationality or not, is the best thing we've got. So, we better work with it. Change for the sake of change will only set us back.

I believe anythings possible, It just hasn't been achieved yet.

I like the idea that one could develop such powers in the mind and then transfer them to reality, but my rational mind tells me that isn't possible. However, the world is a strange place so who knows...

And that's where I was trying to come from!
although, if one could obtain such a power, they would have to be sure not to share it..Imagine if that got into the wrong hands?

Fun idea. But I'm not sure I would want superpowers in real life. I'd feel so responsible for everything! I would feel like I should spend all my time helping others.

I've felt like that before, and belive me it is NOT a happy or healthy place to be mentally. But if someone was to approach me and say they could make it happen for me I would have a hard time turning them down because I would sacrafice myself to make the world better....sorry sort of went off on a tangent there.

The matrix is like real life, this is very true! But I think you can only change your perception.

When you dream, you control the dreamworld around you and thats how you experience things.

IRL, the world around you, is also a dream, but this dream is based on real sensory inputs.

I do believe tho, that you can also manipulate the real life dream. I've done it before. If I stare a long time at something, I can make red dots appear, which turn into infrared lines after a while. Open eye visualisations, it's hard to make them appear, but if I get distracted they dissapear just like that. (And this is not on drugs, but after some sort of meditation. Some drugs like shrooms and LSD also show you how real life is actually a dream)But, even when you can manipulate the real life dream, you're the only one who can see your dream. Other people see their own real life dream.

Bah, isn't it enough to have it in your dreams?:) I'm a bit with Maestro i think, but with the reservation that certain people actualy shouldn't let be left alone beleving certain things;), if I belive that my race is on no grounds superior to others and that it actualy exist such a thing as diffrent races among humans and say that I also am in charge of a small army or something, now you wouldn't want the world to let me belive this would you? this is thet net though so of course you are free to beleve anything you want:) For instance the politicians of my country have swinged from lefties to righties now and sudenly all of the people in Sweden are forced to belive in the free market, horrible, well they won't stay for to long, they'll lose the next rally:)... the beautiful thing with democracy..

Yes, it's possible, but here's what it would take. I instruct you to:

1) Translate your brain waves into energy
2) Use that energy to move atoms together
3) Those atoms change, bind some minerals, form together
4) This forms the object in your hand.

Yup, it's possible. As possible as a human walking to New York, picking up the Empire State Building, and carrying it with his bare hands. Then again, you never know. :P

It is possible. People would lock you up in a mental institution, but that wouldn't matter would it? You'd never know what's really going on. People should remember that all you have to do to bring the matrix to real life is somehow acquire permanent controled hallucinations or dreams. In the end, even waking life doesn't mean that you've left "your head" and started living outside. All that happens is that dream imagery switches places with "real" imagery. So Dash, I disagree with you. In the end, all you have to do is take some drugs. Sorry for derailing the topic myself, but why do people keep trying to explain this internal, subjective life with the external one. How do you know that you aren't dreaming right now, perhaps you're allready locked up somewhere due to insanity... who knows.

I'm going to expiriment with something tonight if I have a lucid dream.
