I think WILD you stay conscious before you enter a dream where as WBTB you fall asleep before entering a lucid dream.
You can do a WILD before falling asleep when practicing the WBTB method. So if you do that then it makes them kind of the same.
WILD is basically a method that is almsot always practived with WBTB, but WBTB does not need to be practiced with WILD. THe more I practice WBTB the more unplanned WILD's I get.
WILD is a general pathway into lucid dream. (like you can wake up in the middle of a dream, fall back asleep and have WILD)
WBTB is a technique (you can only practice it during certain time of the night and it takes a lot of conscious effort)
sdsfdsdfg WBTB takes no effort.. you just have to overcome any laziness. :P
WILD's the one that needs concentration, but hey it all depends. Sometimes it can be much easier than it's hyped up to be. ;)
It look like you could say WBTB only sets up the right condition for a LD. It still have to be induced by either MILD or WILD. I think.
Thats what I thought. :|Quote:

WBTB method make me quite tired and lazy. i dont remember my dreams very well if im tired! so the WILD method seems a good idea if i have the right concentration.
All successes Ive had with WILD's come from being relaxed and not trying to concentrate much at all. Its when I try to concentrate that I can never do it.Quote:

Youre gonnna have a hard time doing a WILD without a WBTB. And like I said, for me personally, WILD's cant come with intense concentration. Its always when I decide to give my mind a little slack, and relax a bit more, that they come.Quote:

so i should just relax and think what i wanna think but not let my mind fall asleep. do you need to WBTB before doing a WILD? is that because you need to get some REM sleep before your body can fall asleep without your mind? :)
Yes, with WBTB you're more likely to enter REM either right away or soon after. Also, staying up for a 30-60 mins (or 60-90) will wake up your mind enough to make it easier to stay conscious while your body sleeps. ;)
WILD takes being a very relaxed, patient, or experienced person. WBTB can be done by pretty much anyone, you at least need the will to get out of bed tired and stay up a little bit - it's not a guarenteed LD though, my first few times I didn't.
My first WILD's were done when I was a hyper, impatient kid with no lucid dreaming experiecne. I ddint even know what they were. I used to have them at school, casue I thought they were much cooler than school. Anyone can do a WILD. Its jsut a tough one to be able to induce whenever you like....actually I was better at it then but probably because I was so sleep stareved waking up for school(goign to sleep late) and I loved to sleep at school.Quote:
