Hey everyone.... Ok , I’m writing a report for my psychology class about dreaming. The report can be anything to do with dreaming. So.... Tell me in your experiences about Dream time V.S. real time. Is it the same or is it different. Tell me what you think.... Thx :okbyenow:

Yes, it's pretty much the same. Stephen LaBerge has done research on it and proved that they are (almost) the same. I don't have the link to where I read up on it, but I'm sure you can find it with a Google search, or maybe on www.lucidity.com .

Several things. For one, travel time is often greatly reduced, as is time waiting for something. Occasionally, time may be stretc hed out, such as it taking what seems like hours or minutes to run across a field or room respectively. I feel that it is mostly subjective. Hmm... I don't think there is a way to tell EXACTLY since everyone's dreams are different. Especially since travel is severely different in dreams as opposed to real life as you can get from one side of the world to the other in a split second.
I do however, believe that it is based off of our perception of time, since most of what we know in our dreams is somehow related to reality.
It differs for me.
I might dream for 2 minutes, and when I wake up 2 hours have passed.
Or
I might dream for 2 hours, and when I wake up 2 minutes have passed. o.O
Or
I might dream for 2 hours, and when I wake up 2 hours really have passed.
Most of the time my dreams last for half the time I'm really asleep. Like 4 hours of dreams in 8 hours of sleep.

Usually when that happens i just try and will myself awake, or just

Even in dreams where i was most obviously dreaming because something

I always have nightmares of bears chasing me and over the years ive
learned to climb a house and get up on the roof to get away from them.
But they are always totally non lucid and just nightmares. The next time
i have one im going to try and use it as a dream sign to become lucid.

it will actually work.....im always pretty scared so i probably wont question
that a bear is chasing me down and make light of it. If it does work tho....
ill just fly away. :D

No. Apparently you did not study your REM sleep. The mind builds the primary ingredients of a dream for a short time in an alpha sleep. This then loads in under 2 or 3 seconds for the vast majority of dreams. The exterior interface with the matrix is limited in time experience to the sampling rate of the senses
and the processing rate of the brain. No such limitations exist in brodmann brain area communications. 60 Year long Lucid dreams are really not that hard to come by for expert lucid dreamers, and in real time, that probably happens in well under 10 minutes.
I'm scandalously floored at some of the answers. You people really should get more research done and quit chattering in circles, pretending knowledge you don't have and thus giving each other false ideas.
