i was just looking online about dreams and i came upon this site.
While looking up Out-of-the-body experiences.
You know, I don't remember exactly, but I'm PRETTY sure I found out about them from doing online research/reading about dreams, back around 1995 or 1996.
AE forums, OOC Room, someone talked about being concious during dreams and controling them, went to read and get to know what it was called, got the term and thats it. Just wanted to know how it was called whatever I was doing for so long lol
Psych professor. :]
I first heard the term from the movie Vanilla Sky.
Bit of all them really, i was reading about AP (Astral Projection) AKA OBE (Outer body experiences) And i was also looking into a dream i had which led me to the AP website which lead me to the OBE websites which i then somehow started looking here, signed up, was impressed and nejoyed lucid dreaming since!, but also urmmm cant remember what i was gonna say lol
I was looking at the entry on sleep at Wikipedia, and on the way clicked on dreams when I realized quite suddenly that I hadn't remembered my dreams in years. From the entry on dreams, I followed the link to the main article on Lucid dreaming after becoming curious at the short summary.
Somebody told me about astral projection so I typed it in google and it eventually lead to this.

When I saw the main dreamviews site and the slogan "Staying up all night", I knew I was home <3
I had a lucid dream and was like HOLY CRAP!!!!
I had a few lucid dreams before I knew what they were, but I didn't know they could be controlled untill I watched that special. And God bless that special.

I've been having LDs since I was a kid. But it never occured to me that they were anything special. It also didn't occur to me to try to control them. Until I saw a clip on them on the SciFi channel.
Oh, I wouldn't mind seing that video clip! Please post!
I learned about LDing from a friend while i was explaining to him a dream I had the night before. After talking to him i started to do research about it online and ended up at this site which was very helpful.
I first heard about Lucid Dreaming when I was just watching Youtube videos at random and I came across this video somehow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c21d-aJHyzc I think I was looking up those crazy LSD effect videos. By the way, does anyone know if this actually works? I never really went back to the video after I read up on Lucid Dreaming.
I was reading How Dreams work on How Stuff Works. It sounded pretty cool, so I clicked on a link it gave which I think was this site.
There was an article about lucid dreaming in Reader's Digest a few years ago. I read it, searched the web, and ended up at Dream Views.
I had one :). I found it interesting so I googled it and it brought me here
Discovered them on my own.
Eventually read a psychology text which had a short chapter on the same.
It refered to Laberge, so I bought his book.
Well, from doing it as a kid
But I took it for granted.. only found out about the term much later. I think I saw it in an old text document I found lying around on a friend's PC
I was reading about dreams on Wikipedia and found these things called 'lucid dreams'. Then got interested in them.
I was reading about how to wake up from a dream on Wikihow and Wikihow has links to related topics at the bottom of the page, after one or two it led to lucid dreaming.
I was on wikihow and clicking on "random article" for something interresting to read, them lucid dreaming came up. I caught up quickly.
I was watching a youtube video and someone mentioned lucid dreaming, and I googled it.

I was bored, and found this interesting.
I watched Paprika and was inspired to at least see if I could induce more vivid dreams and stumbled upon DV on google.
There was a dream thread on another forum I go to. Someone mentioned lucid dreams so I looked it up.
I had an OBE and wanted to know what happened.
I used to suffer from terrible sleep paralysis. I figured out, on my own, how to use it to project into lucid dreams and OBEs.
Then, later, I got involved with others interested in exploring altered states of consciousness. I don't want to name any recognizable names :paranoid: Eventually I ended up teaching dream yoga and lucid dreaming, which was fun while it lasted.
