Well, I'm not sure about a pain anchor, But i would suggest using counting as an anchor since its the one most people use, Just calm your mind and count your breaths, If you miss one or 2 just start off where you left off its a good sign :D
You for example: put your hand under your body, so that it creates mild pain. Then you focus on the pain as you fall asleep = WILD
iv found that when going to sleep, pain/discompfort get biggerand more noticable the longer it goes on, which would piss me off as it became unbearable and stress = bad for LD.
I agree with pond weed on this one, I think that a pain anchor would create stress and tention therefore making the overall attempt to WILD harder. Although i'm still willing to give it a try, but at a later time
sorry, but can somone just remind me what anchoring is. i thought it was were you assosiate an action with a feeling repeatedly so eventualy when you did the action, you would get the feeling. (the pavlov's dog thing)
i am a little confused because people seem to be refering to anchoring as somthing to focus on.
sorry if this is wrong place to mention it
pain anchoring is like putting a peg on ure fingers or toes then you focus on the pain whilst going to sleep therefore keeping ure mind awake and body asleep i kinda failed with it tho lol
seeing these replies I'm not going to try this I'm stressed enough:pissed:
I dunno about pain anchoring seems like a bad idea, but if i get itchy or something when trying to sleep i tell myself that my arms are too tired and heavy and moving isn t even worth the effort, and it seems to help me become even more tired.
I suppose you could do the same with pain or other discomfort.
