I'm a little surprised and amazed at the response, but hells yeah. There are SO many cool and awesome ideas in here, Bravo, I just wish I could do them ALL AT ONCE.
I still think Gay Sex should be high up on the list.

:ohyahbaby:
That's true for the current Tasks of the Month as well. In truth, it isn't a problem at all. First of all, we hope that our members have enough maturity not to go writing fictitious accounts of completing the Tasks just to get their name in gold. But even if some members do, well, so what? It's no skin off our back. Let them have their precious GIF .
Rob a Bank.
I'm so down for that.
I say yes, but wouldn't be that interested in doing them, the reason why I do the ToTM is because these are new to me, so it gives me new experiences to look forward to even if they are silly, and darker ones... well, I do these a lot, so not that much of experiencing, then again experimenting would always come handy with it.
I have to say, this would be awesome. My daydreams are usually pretty dark. I haven't yet achieved the simple task of inducing a lucid dream, but maybe this would give me a little more motivation. Some ideas:
-Summon the legions of Hell and unleash them on the DC's.
-Be Death
-Harness the power of lightning and wreak havoc in one of the world's major cities
I am not going to vote yes or no, as I personally don't care.
The way I see it if you want to do darker tasks I should have no say in it, I might try them occasionally, but as Robot_Butler said "My favorite tasks are those that challenge our sense of self and perception, or involve interaction with dream characters."
Anyway, I am a promoter of everyone being able to do as they please with the exception that it shouldn't directly coincide with the happiness of others, and as I don't see DCs having their own feelings able to be hurt I have nothing against this idea.
This being said, enjoy your tasks! May they bring you happiness, entertainment, and a lowered sense of hostility in real life! =D
- Create a villian persona and go head-to-head against a hoard of superheroes on your quest to enslave the world.
> Dictate a worldwide nuclear war.
> Take on the world with a gun of choice.
> Sabotage a nuclear power plant.
> Poison the world's oceans with mercury [Everyone that eats that fish is going craaazy].
> Re-enact F.E.A.R's Origin explosion, and redeem you're soul by destroying Alma.
>>> Rinse and repeat.
Note: I in no way uphold, condone, or agree with anarchy, death, destruction, and worldwide insanity to fish-eaters.
As long as it doesn't break any morals, I am in. Such as Mudrer with out reason/rape. Inflicting pain for no reason. Starting wars might be fun.
I find it very interesting that the most oft reason for 'no' is that some things may go beyond individual moralities. How is this a reflection? Aren't dreams an area where one is to explore and seriously test these things?
Punch a DC so hard that it changes gender.
Go back in time with a modern/future weapon, and break things
BE the leader of a smart-zombie apocalypse
Edit: I refuse to rape in dreams. Rape is bad.
Why the fuck would we turn into haters of the world and start destroying our Dream World (not that it would have any consequences) but I mean, why make all our tasks overwhelmingly dark? I'm not saying no 'cause I think dark tasks could be cool, but focusing on darkness? It sounds pretty sadic. Maybe we should have 50/50. A task doesn't have to include murder in it to be interesting.. There's lots of cool thing we could do that aren't bad. But at the same time, dreams are good place to do things that you couldn't do in real life because of the consequences...
I've always wanted to shapeshift into an eagle and hunt for a snake or a mouse and to have a pirate fight (You know, all the pirates from one boat attacks another boat with pirates) and when almost everyone is dead to summon a big sea monster to come destroy both of the ships and you'd have to kill it or escape it (a bit like in Pirates of the Carrabean 2)
These aren't SO dark but they aren't all fluffly and boring... I vote for diversity and interesting new experience dark or not dark as long as we don't emphasis and darkness and become psycopaths.
Well I think the way that it works is like this....
The naturals (such as myself) complete the tasks really easily. We already have so much experience with control, and have LDs so frequently, that a task such as riding a cloud or walking on a rainbow is a joke (no offense).
Then the non-naturals who are struggling just to achieve a LD have barely any experience with control, and may even lose the dream before they can do anything. They're more worried about staying in the LD, and there's so many things that they would want to try out in their limited time that I doubt they would want to do something silly like eat green eggs and ham.
So basically what I'm saying is that we should have a separate LD task of the month for naturals. That way we could get some tasks that would actually challenge our control and be more fun for us.
As for the "darker" tasks, I think it is a great idea. A lot of the tasks that I've looked at are kind of kiddy, almost like we're trying to keep it rated-G. I think there are a lot more people who would rather kill 10 zombies with a shotgun than make it rain or turn into a mythical beast.
Some of these things are just pointlessly rude, not even dark. I mean, "fart on a dream character"? I thought the point of the option of dark lucid tasks was to make things interesting. If all you're going to do is be mean to DCs, there won't be any point to it.
More suggestions include:
-focus on the darker side of shapeshifting (pain? grotesqueness? all the details you never bother with in a lighter dream. Also holds for regeneration of flesh, if a death fails)
-compare different ways of dying (drowning, burning nitrous oxide, systemic organ failure)
-test dark magic spells
-break a DC in under eight hours, real time
-contact dark and malevolent creatures, and release them from your control as the dream creator.
I'm with JET. Some of this stuff is just so pointless to do considering the limited amount of time most have in an LD. There's nothing dark about sex, farting is nothing, and there were some other things that were just grotesque and strange.
Anyway, if there were to be a Dark Task master list, this would be mine:
*I'm REALLY a fan of these.
*The only reason I like this idea is because of the way I'd execute it. Look up a show called Alias Smith and Jones and you might see what I mean.
*This one just SCREAMS Taken.
Then to add one;
-Confront the Pokemon Darkrai, who is the Pokemon "Master of Nightmares", fight him, and try to force him to turn my dream into a nightmare
Of course, Darkrai can be replaced with something else, but for me, its Darkrai.
Also, for those who want to discuss morals and violence in Lucid Dreams, please go here and try to keep it out of this thread.
No offense, Snowy Egypt, but I can't help but laugh at the fact that you talk about supporting these dark ideas, but then proceed by talking about f*cking Pokemon? :D ........... What are you; like a really evil 6 year old?
Also, you all talk about doing "Dark" ideas, which I am all for, but what about absolutely bad-ass ideas? Like robbing a bank - which has already been mentioned - isn't really "dark", but would be a bad-ass thing to do.
Here're some more ideas:
- Go on an epic police chase on a motorbike.
- Get in an extreme shooutout, with rocket launchers and RPGs (rocket propelled grenades).
- Use your own bare hands to rip down the Eiffel tower (because it's french) or any other land mark.
- Start running really fast - as fast as you can - and then take a run up and kick a DC in the face.
- Get the gravity hammer from Halo, and then smash the hell out of everything.
- Go into space, and then use your mind to fire the moon at the earth - and aim for France.
- Have a one-on-one shootout, but whilst flying.
- Pit Godzilla and those ugly things from Cloverfield against each other.
- Gain spidermans ability - but without the stupid costume.
- Use the Fat man (mini-nuke launcher) from fallout 3.
- Make a tornado and try to control it with your mind.
I have one, how about gouge your own eyes out and pour salt into your eye sockets, then rip your skin off, take a bath in rubbing alcahol and then staple your skin back on inside out? Just kidding :P
How about try to actually become satin himself in your dream, then imitate Christianity by having a son (or daughter) just like how God had his son on earth, only the exact opposite. I think it would be interesting to watch, it's almost like a movie.
I voted Yes. :D As long as someone doesn't suggest something really extreme/taboo like rape, incest, bestiality, etc.
I'm definitely down for trying some of these out. I've always thought we needed a bit darker "unofficial" task. Wholesome is good, but it's fun to cause a little mayhem, sometimes.
I think I'll come back with some suggestions later.
Don't you like my aweful evil ideas:
Eat a potatoe
Kidnap a duckie from its mommie.
Sharpen a pencil
Rape a tree
Change the furniture of a blind man's house.
Break dance for an old lady.
Get an army of old people and make them danse and after go rule the world (using them as your army)
Stick a chewing gum on a wall of a private building
Suffocate a fish
More seriously...
Eat a banana... affront of a poor monkey.
I'm all for some unofficial dark tasks (I haven't even attempted the last few tasks of the month) but all this talk of robbing banks and assassinating the president will have the FBI watching us... lol.
Oh I get it now, this would have nothing to do with the official stuff so there would be the 'goodie goodie' tasks and the dark tasks! I vote 'yes' than. i just didn't want us to focus on evilness. People could chose wether they want to do so something evil or good... Most people would chose evil though.... lol! I'll find some suggestions.
I guess you don't read. You know, that tiny part in my post that said the pokemon can be replaced with some other dark being? I used the pokemon as an example because that's how I would execute the overall idea; To fight with a dark being and force it to turn the dream into a nightmare. Do you get it now that I've held your hand and walked you through it? Good. Now let's move on.
