As soon as I said to myself, oh hey I'm dreaming, everything blurred, but also felt like I was on a rollercoaster, and the feeling in my gut woke me up.
I know there's the technique to spin around when everything gets blurry, but it's like I go from 0-200 in a split second and I can't do anything about it.
Any views on this, and maybe some ideas on how to control it?
Something that helps me when the dream begins to deteriorate is touching anything I can find in my present surroundings. I'm not sure what the sensation you've been having is, but if I had to give my best guess I would say that the "roller coaster" feeling you are experiencing is from sleep paralysis. I think your body may still be in paralysis when you are waking up(meaning this perception would be a hypnagogic hallucination, similar to vibrating), though your body breaks out of it by the time you are fully awake - when you have broken from the dream. Anyway, by exhibiting your sense of touch in the dream, your perception of the dream as what is real should strengthen, and it may save you from a premature exit.
Another thing you could do is reenter the dream by way of DEILD.

Many of the first handful of lucids I had also came to an abrupt end, especially DILD. So don't be discouraged, keep trying and perhaps experiment with some other techniques(WILDs tend to be longer for me).
Yea, you need to try to keep your emotional state more stable too, sometimes when you feel too strongly upon discovering you're lucid (like the joy of being lucid) you can lose your dream.
Personally, I discourage the spinning technique, I tried it before and instead lost the dream and lucidity for the rest of that night. Touching, staring, just strongly focusing on anything within your dream scene can help stablize your dream, a lot of people stare at their hands because I mean... they're kind of always going to be there.
