My first lucid dream, today, lasted about 30 seconds - 1 minute. I heard about people having LD's for 30 minutes and stuff... Then there are techniques to 'freeze time' in your dream, to shift the time continuum; Real life you dream 10 minutes, but in the dream, your subjective experience tells you that you drempt for days.
mine have lasted for not more than 15 minutes, acutally, i have no idea how long they last at all! it seems like time is not a big issue in mine, because i dont stay for too long.
but some people can stay in there dreams for years...crazy stuff.

Well, I usually can do 1 thing before dream collapses... So it's like 20-30 sec i guess.
Mine range for a few seconds all the way up to the one time i was able to slow things down and stretch it out to two weeks.
The two weeks though was what I call a chain dream. I had three lucid dreams one morning, but the content was continious and spanned two weeks.
I haven't been able to stretch anything past 20 minutes except for that one case.
Well about 2 minutes but i'm trying several techniques to extend it... :)
Spinning doesn't really work for me unfortunately :(
This is a more-than-perfect time to give everyone an intresting excerpt out of a book I read:
"One day, a girl came home and complained of bumping her head on some ice. Everybody ignored her, knowing it would be gone by tommorow. When the girl had to go to school the next day, she did not wake. Her mother called the doctor, and he tried everything, even shouting in her ear, but still she did not stir.
She stayed asleep for about 50 years- her brothers died, and she did not wake up.
Eventually, after these 50 years, she woke up, and was horrified by what had happened. So much had changed. Her brothers were dead- she was now about 60 years old. She got the nickname 'Sleeping Beauty', as she did not look anywhere near 60.
When asked if she remembered any of her dreams, she replied 'No'. She did not remember any of them."
Freaky, huh? She probably had so many lucid dreams during that 50 year sleep, but forgot them all.
I guess she was in a coma, i dont know if you see dreams in a coma
Lately, only maybe..30 seconds. I've had them last 2-3 minutes though, I think.
adroid28 s right. A coma mimics the deepest relams of delta sleep. There are no dreams there.
it's impossible to dream while in a coma?
Really? I always thought that they dreamt another reality of theirs (Basically a dream). Oh well
i've had some really short ones. like probably 10 seconds after i realized i was lucid i wake up. then i had one really long one, we're talking like 10 minutes... it was cool. i just need to figure out what i did to make that happen...
My all time longest dream lasted about three months, I can remember whole days where I did stuff, and watched things happen and everything, I wrote it down on paper, but I'm not going to type it any time soon, Its REeeeeeeeally long, and it has some personal stuff in it.
but yea I'm going off on a tangent,
Three months is my record.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(\\\"Rtex\\\")</div>Pardon my lack of expertise on dreams, and so forth, but is this '3 months', as in..the dream went through a period of 3 months? I'm just a little confused.Quote:

^^Yup. Within the dream, 3 months passed
Ah, thanks for clearing that up :)Quote:

When I was a kid I used to let weeks go by in an LD. But now they are usually broken down to a couple of days here and there. I may have done maximum 35 to 40 min in real time Pure LD. I could probably go longer but Every Lucid Dream I have I have to bring myself out of it because I don't have that much time to sleep.
But heres something that works for me. If you really want a continous Long Lucid Dream Do this. Drink a Couple of Cap fulls of Nightquill before going to bed and you will extend your LDing.
Shadow, thats not dangerous is it? Like Overdosing?
No not at all Just one of those Cap fulls, im not sure what the measurement is of that tiny cap on top of the bottle but if you fill it up to the last line before the top then thats one Adult dosage. I've done it several times whenever Im ready to experience a Longer than normal LD.
And I never experienced any problems, just sometimes I have to force myself out of bed because you're going always feel sleepy even after you slept for hours. Thats when its COLD SHOWER time.
Right, I should have been clearer. I was asleep for one night, Just like any other dream. but in the dream, I remember events and different days, all adding up to a total of about ninety days. It lasted so long, that I didn't think it was a dream anymore. More like a reality in which I could do whatever I wanted. When I woke the next day. I was VERY confused. Because it had seemed like I had not woken up in my own bed in months. And when I tried to use some of my dream powers, they didn't work either.
So yeah.
Spending long periods of time in dreams can be very confusing indeed, I really dont know how long I spend time in there, its really hard to keep track of time, the longs ones usually arnt to pleasant..X_X
Are there any other ways to extend the time period within LD's
I'm with lucius on this one, even though it would seem cool to have REALLY long dreams, it very confusing on the physche(sp?) and in all other ways is a bit unsafe. I would not recommendd trying it.

Yeah I agree with them also Nightowl maybe you shouldn't try my method I mean people do take differently to things. Like for instance my mind isn't that weak for Long dreams to become confusing to me. So I can handle the extensiveness of long Periods of Sleep. But Some people minds aren't strong enough so maybe its a good idea to not try my method. Im not sure of any other methods yo can do. But these guys may have some ideas
