My family is smart lol, that is why I love them.
My parents just don't care really. They give a "hah, cool" with a really sarcastic tone and that's pretty well it.
I don't really want to tell my parents about lucid dreaming, because i don't think they would understand.
I haven't told my parents, but I know they wouldn't even care about it. I told my older brother and he says I'm psycho.
However, I also told my close friends, including my girlfriend. Now we all talk about dreaming a lot, in fact I got 3 of them into lucid dreaming. Now, we talk so much about it that they all know terms such as sleep paralysis, REM, dream character ,dream guide, WILD, etc.
My girlfriend is a natural lucid dreamer, but she says it's stupid because dreams are not real. *sigh*.
My parents think I am crazy but I don't care. If only they knew how awsome LDing is. I am going to college this year though so don't have to worry about it much longer.
My mom doesn't really care, and my dad thinks the whole thing is bullshit. I eve tried to tell him that I did have lucids, but he didn't believe me. He even thinks this is just a phase I'm going through. I will perservere in the end, and show him!
I just brought the topic of dreaming on, and then I told them I was keeping a dream journal, they sounded amused and my sister asked me to read some from it. I told them a few things and they laughed a few times, but they don't really care for it,
they just let me enjoy it lol. And a friend of mine finds it interesting, and he said I must "teach" him how to do it when I figured it out xD
A friend of mine led me to make my first serious effort at LDing, but he never gave it a serious shot like I did.
I told my mom about it. Over the past years (ever since I was really young) My mom would have precognitive dreams, so I figure she would find it interesting, which she did. For example, one time she had a dream that there was an ambulance at our neighbors house and like 2 or 3 days later our next door neighbor had a heart attack. Every couple of months something like this would happen, not always as serious though. pretty crazy stuff. Nothing like that has ever happened to me though.
I keep it to myself really cause its an interesting little world and ability I reckon. When I had my first lucid, what I tried to have on purpose, I told my sister and friends (who honestly didn't give a damn) and I told my dad, whom is very open to these ideas and things cause hes awesome. I didn't tell my mum though. I don't know why. hahahaha its just our relationship is all. Anyway!
Those reactions from grandmas sound funny. I must tell my grandma the next time I see her!! :P
My mum actually understands and is interested in it, but I can't for the life of me get her to stop waking me in the morning. My dreams fade as soon as she starts speaking. I've told her its bad for my recall. It's gotta be sabotage...
I never told my parents, but i toldmy friend at school and now he is trying to shoot/kill me in his dreams:shock: He has yet to do it though and it's been a couple weeks.
My dad thinks its retarded or not real or something. At one point he told me i wasnt allowed to write down my dreams. I (of course) continued to journal my dreams down regardless.
My mom did the same thing when I was a teenager. I ended up setting an alarm before my mom planned to wake me up. That way, I'd have some time to write up my dream journal before she wrecked it. :PQuote:

I like to talk about what I'm interested in so I've told my parents about it, both my mom and dad listened and knew what I was talking about but didn't really care one way or another, so I guess I count that as positive
However my brother seems to hate the whole idea of it for what ever reason, he walks away if I mention it, doesn't want me talking about it and even deletes my bookmarked pages :/
At this point, you start disguising all dream-related bookmarks under "horticulture". Lucid dreaming sites are various types of evergreens, shared dreaming tutorials are various types of seasonal flowers, and you've recently taken up an interest in gardening.Quote:

Lol funny, but no I'm an expert with my browser, if I don't want a bookmark deleted it's no there to anyone else, but it's more the point then the action really
Fine, do it the smart way. :cheeky:
I know what you mean, though. I have a younger brother, too.
For me it's my older brother http://planetoid3.tastyhamgames.com/...t/rolleyes.gif
That is a little ridiculous that he would be THAT against it. Did he ever give a reason for it?
No, I've asked him more then once to give me a reason for why he is so against it, but according to him he doesn't have a reason he just doesn't like it.
Yea both my parents have lucid dreams them selfs now and again themselfs. Most people have the odd one here and there. My mums into buddism and that, they see lucid dreaming as a way that you can practice keeping control of your self when you die, they call it dream yoga, they believe that when you die you go into a place of conciousness that is very much like or even is a dream time, so if your incontrol when you die you can conciously choose where you go and even your next incarnation.
I can't really see why anyone would take issue with their kids lucid dreaming, unless it's a worry that it's bad for you because you don't rest in the way your suposed to, or some religious thing as it's sometimes associated with astral projection which is associated with the occult.
lol, i told my parents, and they dont seem to care, my dad thinks it will mess with my head, and my mum doesnt mind...
Ah, stupid irrationality always seems to beat out logical open-mindedness when discussing the unknown. I never bothered to mention lucid dreaming to my parents. My mom did, however, catch me up at 3:30 for a WILD attempt. I explained and she simply told me to avoid disturbing my brother's sleep cycle by telling him about the WILD technique. My friends seem to think it's pretty cool.
Yeah, my dad loves psychology, and how the brain works and things like that. He was so impressed that I was into it. My mom on the other hand, well she's not against it, she just thinks it's weird. Haha. xD
