Or Waking Life?
I was very surprised from the end of that movie... it was definately an interesting one. The main character was living in a lucid dream without even realising it, but at the end he did some reality checks and found out he was really dreaming. I don't know how to tell you about it without spoiling the whole movie :-P
But he didn't know he was dreaming so he wasn't lucid until the end :P
How many people are in this same situation in real life until they are turned on to the aspect of what a lucid dream is?? . just a point to ponder. :lol:Quote:

Actually, I would call that a conscious dream then. You don't really have to realize your dreaming to have a lucid dream... it just helps. THe awareness of the reality around you is all you need to be conscious. The awareness that it is a dream, simply brings you the option of control over the reality around you. Just be conscious, and thats a lucid dream... by real definition.Quote:

Can someone please define what lucid dreaming actually is? I thaught it was being aware you are dreaming (even without the conscious part), but everyone else seems to have a different opinion... I am just a confused newbie at the moment. Thanks.
Lucid by definition means;Quote:

Easily understood; intelligible.
Mentally sound; sane or rational.
A lucid dream does relate to consciousness. When you are awake you are in a conscious state. The same holds true in a lucid dream. I like to think of lucidity as awareness.
Synonyms: apprehensible, clear, clear-cut, comprehendible, comprehensible, crystal clear, distinct, evident, explicit, fathomable, graspable, intelligible, knowable, limpid, luminous, pelLucid, plain, translucent, transparent, transpicuous, unambiguous, unblurred, understandable
That statement seems like an oxymoron to me. :PQuote:
