      How does the movie Vanilla Sky talk about lucid dreaming?

      The task of our generation is to cut through the illusion that we inhabit separate worlds. Only then will we find the heart to rise to the daunting but urgent challenges of global disparity. --Losang Rabgey

      I was very surprised from the end of that movie... it was definately an interesting one. The main character was living in a lucid dream without even realising it, but at the end he did some reality checks and found out he was really dreaming. I don't know how to tell you about it without spoiling the whole movie

      How many people are in this same situation in real life until they are turned on to the aspect of what a lucid dream is?? . just a point to ponder.

      Actually, I would call that a conscious dream then. You don't really have to realize your dreaming to have a lucid dream... it just helps. THe awareness of the reality around you is all you need to be conscious. The awareness that it is a dream, simply brings you the option of control over the reality around you. Just be conscious, and thats a lucid dream... by real definition.

      The human mind has far greater potential than society has conditioned you to believe.

      Can someone please define what lucid dreaming actually is? I thaught it was being aware you are dreaming (even without the conscious part), but everyone else seems to have a different opinion... I am just a confused newbie at the moment. Thanks.

      Lucid by definition means;
      Easily understood; intelligible.
      Mentally sound; sane or rational.

      A lucid dream does relate to consciousness. When you are awake you are in a conscious state. The same holds true in a lucid dream. I like to think of lucidity as awareness.

      Synonyms: apprehensible, clear, clear-cut, comprehendible, comprehensible, crystal clear, distinct, evident, explicit, fathomable, graspable, intelligible, knowable, limpid, luminous, pelLucid, plain, translucent, transparent, transpicuous, unambiguous, unblurred, understandable

      That statement seems like an oxymoron to me.
