A lot of times,what happens when we try to open chakras up, is something that can be compared when a person tries to lose weight. That person has a great success for a time, then reaches a plateau thats extremely hard to get past before the success can continue. Being a lifelong psychic, I can tell you - this is no picnic. Sometimes, it down right sucks to know how much goes on in "the unseen". You become a garbage collector if you're not careful. You can easily be drained to the point of acute physical illness just by walking into a crowded area like a Walmart, mall, a church building, a baseball field, concert, a forum - you don't have to see people in person to be hit,anywhere thats packed and especially if its a spiritual gathering, where hurt brokenhearted, heavyhearted people gather - if you go into it with some careless abandon, no forethought for shielding or cleansing exercises that you can do around others that no one will notice. For example, purging energy through exhalation. You focus on your intent (to cleanse yourself) and take one breath in, nice and slow, deep as you can, and then exhale in tiny spurts, going as deep into the lungs as you can without getting dizzy or feeling lightheaded. Great quick relief when you go into a crowded place and you get WHAMMED by the energies.
