      Unhappy 3rd eye problem :(

i have been meditating daily for 2 months, i reached a point where i don't see any progress in my meditations. i can feel pressure between my eyebrows i can make it so intense or not, i can control it. but i don't see anything only BLACKNESS

i'm trying to meditate everyday, and still no progress.

      started to lose hope

i also do candle focus thingy several times i don't do it daily like meditation
and sometimes i can feel the pressure between my eyebrows while
doing my normal daily activities like driving to school. when i focus on it i can feel it without meditation but with meditating it feels more intense

can anyone tell me why i don''t see any progress in this? been doing it for 2 months now

Remember meditation is generally a long, slow road that requires time and discipline. However, there are short cuts but they are not recommended for beginners. You are always progressing when you are meditating; you just are not consciously aware of it. Once in a while you will experience an epiphany, a spiritual experience that will help to bolster future efforts.

The pressure that you feel is the increased energy exchange that is taking place within your ajna chakra and would have very little to do with opening your '3rd eye' in your case.

I know a very powerful 3rd eye awakening shortcut that one of my meditation teachers passed onto me. His teacher in India advised him not to give it to beginners. He did give it to a group of beginners and regretted it as some of them began opening theirs too early and abnormal mental and emotional neuroses began to develop in these people.

How much are you meditating daily? How many sessions and for how long? Come back to me in a year and I will give you the 3rd eye shortcut meditation as you will be ready then.

Our chakras are exchanging energy 24 hours a day. Meditating makes certain chakras more active for some people and this can carry over into daily activities, it is perfectly normal. A word of warning, don't meditate to much in the beginning. Two 20 minute sessions per day is plenty for the first year. Keep meditating and you will slowly begin to see progress and then you can start to move onto more advanced techniques. I have studied the subject a great deal and know lots of techniques that are a bit like secrets as they are closely guarded by practitioners and don't appear in print very often. Some techniques are strictly handed down by word of mouth and very hard to come by. I did put myself forward for a meditation course teacher on DV a while back but Matte87 said there wasn't an opening for me at that time. Just as well because my life became to busy for the commitment anyway. But who knows, maybe I will run a course here in the future

That's interesting. Did it have anything to do with the microcosmic orbit?

my friend, today i saw a flash of white light for 1 second , while meditating in a super dark room << it looks like this flash came when i focused
on the area between the eyebrows.
however, i would like to say that i saw a purple flash of light for 1 second before 1 week.

does anyone knows what is this ???

i was reading about someone having the same experience, and one of the responses said that, "You are that Light" :S

Your trying too hard, its about relaxing and being effortless..also sounds like your focusing outward instead of inward

If you meditate outward, mind and world arise. When you focus inward you are going within yourself, towards the "no-mind"

Easiest way I found to go inward is to just observe your thoughts..it puts distance between you and your thoughts, also when you watch your thoughts..it automatically stops them

That's not easy at all. I have a very chatty mind and 'to just observe your thoughts' is an alien concept to me.

Sit in a room by yourself quietly. Just sit there, no t.v. on or anything..no distractions.

Not only will this calm your mind down automatically but you'll begin to be able to "observe" what your thinking from a detached point of view

Another way is to say to yourself or think to yourself "Just watch"..and sort of wait and see what your next thought is

Attempt to progress in meditation sounds like you've missed the point. Attempting to progress causes one to focus on lack, which creates resentment and disappointment. Like any other practice, you must let go of results and enjoy the practice for itself. I wouldn't be able to touch the guitar if every time I did all I was able to hear when I played was the difference between me and Jimi Hendrix.

Progress? What is progress? But the illusion of time manifesting in one's actions? And if it is, there is only two things it requires patience and persistence.

A lot of times, what happens when we try to open chakras up, is something that can be compared when a person tries to lose weight. That person has a great success for a time, then reaches a plateau thats extremely hard to get past before the success can continue. It's the body saying "Enough is enough, let me catch up with your intention." Yes, that means its a fear-based wall that comes up, but its for a reason. It's to protect you. The more open your third eye is, the more aware you are of spiritual activity.

Being a lifelong psychic, I can tell you - this is no picnic. Sometimes, it down right sucks to know how much goes on in "the unseen". You become a garbage collector if you're not careful. You can easily be drained to the point of acute physical illness just by walking into a crowded area like a Walmart, mall, a church building, a baseball field, concert, a forum - you don't have to see people in person to be hit, anywhere thats packed and especially if its a spiritual gathering, where hurt brokenhearted, heavyhearted people gather - if you go into it with some careless abandon, no forethought for shielding or cleansing exercises that you can do around others that no one will notice. For example, purging energy through exhalation. You focus on your intent (to cleanse yourself) and take one breath in, nice and slow, deep as you can, and then exhale in tiny spurts, going as deep into the lungs as you can without getting dizzy or feeling lightheaded. Great quick relief when you go into a crowded place and you get WHAMMED by the energies.

What method did you use to open your chakras?

What method did you use to open your chakras?
I don't. It's what methods do I use to close them, or keep them in check. For as long as I can remember. There's only been one time in my 42 years that I was unable to see/hear/sense spiritual activity, and that was between ages 35-38, after a head injury at age 35. Losing that sense was as debilitating as losing an arm at first, but I got used to it. And just when I thought it was gone forever, tada..... at age 38, I guess the sight of injury healed enough that my psychic senses returned. I remember that first day I felt so sick to my stomach lol, and I can't even put into words the headache. For the record, I was injured on the top/back of my head and my right eye/orbit was broken. I have no idea where the brain stores the psychic sense, but... it must be around the top back. Between age 38-40, things were slow to return - but then again I didn't force the chakras to open, I didn't want to have everything come back because that means sleepless nights, communicating with spirits that see my "blinkin beacon", and running into them where ever I go.

Then at age 40, whammo. Now, it's as strong as it was when I was 25.

But I'll tell you what i do to help keep my open chakras "in check" if that helps. I enjoy Tai Chi. I do it alone, because there is no where around here that has a Tai Chi group/class. Its a form of release, through gentle exercise, stretching, and focus/intent on the release. I avoid foods that are high in sodium, because any time I physically blow up like a balloon, I get out of kilter in the veil - I feel like I'm under water. I can tell you what it feels like when the third eye is reopening after its been closed for a while (that period of time between 38-40 when things reopened)...at first you feel tired for no reason. Then, you have this god forsaken, non-stop, ringing noise in your head - between your eyebrows, not in your ears. You have headaches and dreams become more active - you might even wake up feeling wiped out because you've been so busy in your sleep. Those are mornings where I take my time sitting up. Review what I did in my sleep. Take a cleansing breath. And journal, because rereading it later can help me figure out exactly what the dream meant, which applies to my life at the moment.

hey everyone, i would like to tell you that i have been meditating all the time since my last post
and for the last 4 days i experienced something new, which is a non stoping buzzing sound, and sometimes i hear Cricket Sound. I'v been hearing these sounds for 4 days now, and i hear them everywhere i go. When i set quietly the sound gets intense, and when i get distracted by talking to someone the sound fades slowly.

i just wanted to share my experience with you, and i want to know did anyone went thru the same experience?

my friend, i have been meditating for 1 year now, and still have the same issue. i meditate for 30 min daily.
i count from 1 to 6 while breathing and then 1 to 6 while holding my breathe and 1 to 6 while releasing it,, when i feel heavy i stop
and then i just think of nothing, and i always feel pressure between my eyebrows but this time i can't let the pressure go.

i would like to try your shortcut method for opening 3rd eye.
i hope it works with me

Have you considered the possibility that there's no such thing as a third eye?

If you have a goal when you're meditating you aren't meditating correctly.

It exist, I'm sure you can find a couple of people in the inner sanctum who can attest to it. I managed to open my third eye but then I started to have creepy ass "hallucinations" and spiritual experiences so I let it close.

      "wowzerz"

If you believe in a third eye enough to meditate with the specific intent to open it, or with any intent other than just to meditate, then the whole purpose has gone over your head and you need to reevaluate what you're actually trying to get out of this whole thing.
