Just thought I'd post a little something for you guys to look into before we have the DVA Session (this Saturday at 2pm CST by the way!). For those of you who'd like, I'm gonna post some links, and a video, and give a general idea of what we're gonna focus on, maybe to give you something to think about and have some questions geared up and ready. :D
The over-all theme of this session will be to go over the very foundation of lucid dreaming: sleep itself, and dream recall.
A.)We'll start off talking about how sleep works. Maybe give some tips on how to get to sleep, the importance of a consistent sleep schedule, and we can even go over different types of sleep (polyphasic, biphasis, uberman sleep schedule.) Most importantly, we're gonna talk a little about the way deep-sleep and REM sleep work throughout the night.

B.) Second, we're gonna talk about dream recall, different tips to remember dream recall, and the various ways in which to record/write them down. Our friend Slash has been kind enough to do a video recently on Dream Recall.
Its a bit rambly, but that's all a part of the charm. There's some real important bits in here-- especially the last part about having fun. =]

Dream Signs, Reality Checks, and Stabilizing!
A.) We will talk a little bit about Dream Signs! What qualifies as a good dream sign? What's the purpose of a dream sign?
"Dream signs are a very intuitive method, which itself harnesses a degree of awareness. One is supposed to take notice of those things which appear frequently both in waking life and one's dreaming life. So, if you go biking all the time, and you dream about biking all the time, one should consider if one is dreaming anytime one is biking!"
B.) Reality Checks! Will just refresh on some of the many reality checks that we all use, share some experiences, etc. Some people use reality checks primarily as a way to become lucid, while others only do reality checks to make sure that they are dreaming for sure when they already are lucid.
(About to jump outta of that 6 story window and fly around? Try a reality check first!)
Reality Checks - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views Here's a good list to give you some ideas of how creative you can get with reality checks.
C.) Last, but definitely not least, is Stabilization. So, now you're lucid. Next step is to try and stay that way! There are all kinds of different ways to stabilize. Feeling the ground, spinning in the dream, examining your surroundings...licking the nearest object. :P
Anytime you feel the dream is fading/you're waking up, that its very foggy or low quality, take a minute to stabilize it. Get creative. Anything that involves the 6 senses is a good idea really-- textures, visuals, smells, tasting things...anything that gets you involved with the dream.
