I'm new!
I just discovered this site and lucid dreaming. As I'm sure is the case with many others, Inception is what first turned me onto lucid dreaming. I have no recollection of ever hearing about it before, but it fascinates me. Not only am I new to lucid dreaming, I feel like a pretty novice dreamer as well. My memory of dreams is so far and few between that it's though I hardly dream at all. I know this isn't the case, but it sure seems like it. As I've started reading up on dreaming in general, I've started keeping a dream journal. Since I've started, I've recalled a total of.....3 dreams! Ha! I've only done this for about a week, so I don't expect much more. My goal for now is to educate myself more on dreams (including lucid ones) and try to recall and record more as they come.
If anyone has any advice to recall dreams, send it my way!
Thanks,
Kelly

Welcome and good luck!
One thing you can do is this: Even if you don't notice or don't remember, you usually wake up several times during the night. Keep your journal always handy on your nightstand and every time you wake up, focus, remember and immediately after grab the journal and start writing what you remembered. Then go back to sleep and do it again next time. If you're really tired just write some key words or ideas. In the morning, just reading the notes will make the dreams come back to you. By doing this I went from recalling 1 or 2 dreams per night to 5 or 6.

woohoo i'm new too ! first of all, Inception was awesome. Secondly, at first, I would only remember 2 or 3 dreams tops for one entire week. But now it's weird when I don't remember at least 2 dreams each night. What I like to do, is read through my dream journal before I go to sleep. Just some advice from a fellow newbie that might work !

I actually rarely wake up during the night, so this leaves opportunities for recall to usually just the morning. I do keep the journal on my nightstand to write down anything that I do remember the moment I first remember it. Like I've said, I've only tried this for about a week, so I don't expect immediate results. I've also been taking time reading up on dreaming and starting reality checks.
Inception is a great movie with a fascinating plot and effects. I've heard some talk of it being over-rated, but I think it deserves the praise that it gets.
Thanks for the quick responses!
