i cant recall dreams :/
i never have been that good at recalling dreams because it has never seemed to bother me... but i found out bout this site bout a week ago and have been trying to remember my dreams and out of 7 days i can only remember 3 and thats doign the wbtb which kind of helps but is a bit annoying :( any tips on remembering dreams without having to wake up at 5am every morning?

do you do autosuggestion (telling yourself over and over that you will remember your dreams)? That works for me.

Yeah auto suggestion should work, also, heres a few of my thoughts (im not a expert, just my opinions)
1. For me, if im doing something frustrating, or something i dont like, i wont remember it as well. SO! if WBTB is frustrating for you, simply... dont do it, L.D. is meant for your enjoyment, and there are plenty of methods out there to choose from! you dont have to be stuck with just one method.
2.If you just keep practicing your dream recall, and writing in a dream journal everything you can remember from a dream, you WILL DEFINITELY eventually get better at it. Sometimes it takes longer for others, and sometimes people have the skill naturally.
3. BE POSITIVE! you have remembered three this week, try and remember 4 the next. Baby steps, nobody beomes a master of lucidity in one week, no matter HOW talented they are naturally.
4. YOU CAN! recall dreams, you have already recalled 3, now you just have to improve on it! it also helps to set goals, and sometimes you get great recall sprees, and sometimes you have lows, wait out the lows and you will eventually hit a lot of recalls.

Another thing you can try is not moving when you first wake up. If you wake up to an alarm clock, quickly turn it off and then just lay in bed for a minute or two and try and think of anything you could have dreamed. It could be an emotion, a dream character, a place, a color, etc. Usually if you can recall something more will come to you and you can just work backwards from there to try and find out what happened before that. Then after a minute or two, write down what you can recall.
Diligence is the most important thing. If you keep trying and your intent is to recall your dreams, it will become easier in time. Make sure you're getting enough sleep so you're spending enough time in REM sleep as well. Lastly, as Mincemeat was saying, stress is not good when it comes to dreaming. So, before going to bed, relax, review your intent to recall your dreams when you wake up, and then enjoy the dreams you have as much as you can.
You'll get it. :)
