Can't Remember my dreams at all even if i want. Not enough sleep?

I'm wondering. What does it take to remember dreams? I want to write in my journal but i have zero memories of my dreams these days. Maybe i'm not getting enough vitamins or something??

I go to sleep with the intent that i want to remember my dream but it hasn't happened .
yet, other times when i didn't even know about lucid dreaming in the past I've remember dreams even without trying, specially nightmares or weird dreams.

I wonder if the reason i don't remember is cause i don't get enough hours of sleep, thus i don't reach REM????

these days i've been sleeping at 11 or 12 pm and wake up at 5:30am.

BTW, i started my lucid dreaming practice since now about 1 week + alittle. So the first step is to remember dreams and i just can't. Can anyone give me some tips.
I wonder if being a quiet has to do with it, since i don't speak alot in real life, so my mind is not as active as talkative people's minds. so perhaps that has something to do with it?

I'm having having similar problems.

I can't give any advice about vitamins, but I can tell you from my own experience that I won't remember anything unless I sleep for at least 8 hours, although today I slept that much and don't remember anything other than very vague scenarios.

Also, being less talkative doesn't mean your mind is less active, in fact I'd say the people I know who talk the most probably have the least active minds! Although, one of the only times I've been lucid it happened because I spoke in the dream (which is very rare) and using my voice felt really strange. So I guess I wouldn't say talk more, there's no point in talking for the sake of it, but interacting more with your environment might help tip you off in dreams that something's a little off.

If you don't reach REM in your sleep, you'll probably feel like shit during the day, it's like you haven't slept the entire night.
You do have REM cycles, even if you sleep only 1 hour - sleep cycles are, usually, 90 minutes, the REM sleep will be longer through the night, it's just easy to remember the lastest dreams than the ones in your shorter REM.

Hey good news everybody. I had my first dream that i was able to remember!!!! This is about 2 weeks after i started learning about Lucid dreaming.

I went to sleep at about 10:20pm, woke up at about 2am. and i didn't remember any dreams. But i went back to sleep immediately, then woke up at 4:50am and i remembered something.
I was at outside a popular restaurant , waiting in line to go inside and there was this elderly couple. They were in front of me( But it was not a straight line of people , it was curved)and they said "you can go in front of us.. you look like a nice and hardworking man. I said "no thanks" but they insisted so i accepted.

It was not lucid btw. And it was fuzzy, i kind of remember it black like when you close your eyes and everything seems black, but at least i remembered it :cheeky:

Don't worry about your recall too much though, you'll get better with practice. When I started trying to lucid dream, I was in a similar situation to you, and I'd remember maybe a dream every couple of weeks. At the moment my recall's been pretty terrible for some reason or another, but not too long ago I managed to remember 7 or 8 dreams over 3 nights. You'll definitely get better, just be patient haha :)

Also, make sure that you write every detail you can in your dream journal - The more you can remember, the more likely you are to remember things in the future.
