First Sleep Paralysis Experience
This morning I woke up and it was only like 9:30 or something, so I went back to sleep. I started dreaming about me racing a shopping cart through an empty store with my brother, and for some reason, I just realized I was dreaming. I said to my brother in the dream, "Dude, I'm dreaming-" and as soon as I said that I got sucked out of it and "woke up" to find myself in sleep paralysis. I couldn't move, I almost felt like I was being smothered/suffocated, my face felt weird, it felt like I was spiraling downward kinda, and sound was like all distorted and stuff. It lasted for like 3 seconds or something, then I snapped out of it. It was really reminiscent to being on salvia, if anyone else has ever smoked that (and if you haven't, it fucking sucks). Basically it was scary as shit.
My question is: is this normal to experience when becoming lucid for the first time ever? I didn't TRY to become lucid in my dream, it just happened, and my dream ended as soon as I realized it. But I've only heard of sleep paralysis, and never actually had it. Is it normal? Can it be like dangerous or ongoing or something?
edit: Also, when I woke up, it was only like 10:00 or something, so I entered REM sleep in like less than half an hour... which isn't supposed to happen I think...
