So Close, but not quite?
So, this morning I woke up at around 5:30, not intentionally, just did. Decided I was going to try to WILD, and within like 10 seconds of going back to sleep, I saw a bright light, and then got like a single wave pulsing through my body, then heard voices. I was definitely thinking I was about to have a lucid dream, but I didn't see any dream scene, and nothing happened. I woke up, and to make sure it wasn't an FA, I tried to put my finger through my palm. I could hardly feel it, but it didn't go through so I knew I wasn't dreaming. Any tips on what I can do to actually get into the dream?

sounds like you may have got excited because you thought you were going into a dream. keep trying and try to stay calm, maybe count your breathing to keep your mind occupied

Yeah, you were close indeed. You could barely feel your finger eh? You may have been successful and had a FA. Your RC could have failed. I always suggest performing multiple types of RCs (always have at least 2 go-to RCs). I would also suggest performing each one a couple of times a piece. Sometimes one RC will fail, and the other will help you become lucid. Once you get to where you have audible hallucinations and other HH, just ride out the tide. Don't try to force anything, or speed up the process. Just stay calm and relaxed. Let the dream form around you on its own (sometimes it takes a bit for the actual dream scenes to form). You were close indeed, so just keep practicing and you will succeed before you know it!

yeah i could hardly feel it, but im thinking it was real because when i had a shower the next morning i noticed a red indent in my palm where the nail dug in. thanks for the reply

Ah, I see. Well, you got pretty damn close anyway. With each failure brings more experience. WILD is one of those things that gets easier the more you get used to it and learn about it from first-hand experience. Just keep at it!
