When I first started I would make make audio tapes that I would play to hypnotize myself or inspire LDs. I would attempt to send myself on adventures around the world.
The hardest part about self hypnosis as a tool to search memories is not putting yourself to sleep. That is where making a tape can be handy because you can keep yourself on track and wake yourself up when done.
I have never trained but have a natural gift for hypnosis so it may be easy for me.
By the way, nice to join the forum.
Oh! I quite have nothing to add... but I do have a question... when making Auto-Hypnotic Dream Tapes I could never quite decide which would be better -- to use the First Person (I will blah blah blah), or the Second Person (you will blah blah blah). Which way did you decide?
