Well this seems odd...
I can (regularly) fully enter sleep paralysis in under five minutes. Also, I have seen hypnagogic images with nearly every attempt at lucidity, BUT, for some reason I cannot actually get to the point of becoming lucid. I have been logging my dreams for about a week now, but nothing seems to strike me as being a 'dreamsign'. It seems as though I am getting nowhere with my attempts.
I'd like to hear some replies to this, either providing methods for me to try -I have researched the masses of them- or sharing a similar frustration. Any responses are much appreciated!!

Maybe since you can't get past the HI, you should try DILD or MILD, then do a WBTB and WILD.
-
How can you exactly "try" DILD, considering -from what I've read- it's primarily chance that it would happen? I do reality checks, what else could I do to beget a DILD?
-
-Do reality checks as often as possible. Do them on a schedule, whenever you think about it,or whenever you spot a dream sign. I just thought to do one now while I was typing this.
-Look for things that come up regularly. They won't be as easy to spot. I've been at lucid dreaming for about two weeks, and my first dream sign, Ive found, Is interacting in some way with a girl that has dark hair. Because that has happened in three of my dreams in under two weeks. You can't just look for a purple fern or a flying cat. This is why it is EXTREMELY important to write down every detail of a dream that you can remember. If you make it shorter (eg.Just say you were in a room alot like your living room) Instead of describing the room in full, that can save you time, but be sure you know what your talking about later when you look though your journal for dream signs. (for example if you saw a picture from your living room wall in another dream, then you could know that THAT picture was in both your dreams) even if the only memory you have of the first dream is what you wrote down.
Hope this advice helps.;)

Stop and look around and try to be aware of where you are, what you're doing, how you feel, just be aware of your surroundings. If you can do this all day you will be the master of DILDs.

What reality checks seem to work best for you two?
-
Nose plug, finger through hands, and look around.
-
How often? I try to do them every hour or two.
-
that's not often enough, you've got to make them habit and every hour or 2 aint ganna cut it.
I personally try to do one at least every ten minutes and I still forget. If you forget while awake you'll forget while you're asleep.
