Yet another sleep paralysis question

Firstly I apologize for giving this thread a misleading title. If I could change it I would so if there is anyone out there who knows if it is possible, please would you let me know.

I am in fact seeking out information that might help me get through the transition stage of the WILDing method.

So, I have some questions to ask of you all today.

I've been able to float in and out of transition (not recently though but I'm getting closer to my goal)... however I've never been able to hold onto and pass the transition and go into a dream. How do you personally ride through the hallucinations that occur once you are entirely paralysed and are going through transition from body awake, mind awake, to body asleep, mind awake?

Just relax, and realize that you're perfectly safe. If you start to freak out then your chances of getting through it are pretty slim. I don't know if that's the problem you have though.

Basically I treat it like some more HI, and at the point of SP I start to visualize a dream scape so that I can VILD.

Hi Raphael, Thanks for that speedy reply. It seems that you answered my question even before I had the chance to edit it. So you hit it right on the nail anyway. It's been a while since I've been in transition... so, if you have any tips on getting there it would really helpful.

On a side note, would you be ignoring the scary sensations by visualising a dream scape?

Oh, and one more thing, when you say "at the point of SP" do you mean at the point of partial SP (the body but not the head being paralysed) or full SP (everything being paralysed)?

I don't try to create the transition myself, it just happens naturally. After so much time in HI, I will start to go into SP. I don't know of any ways to speed the process up, unless you do a WBTB.

Yeah it definitely takes my mind off it, which sometimes causes it to go away completely. It's actually possible to control the SP sensations once you get good, I wouldn't really worry about that yet though. Try not to get too caught up in it, remain passive throughout.

Full SP. That's when I'm closest to entering the dream. You can allow the HI to form the dream by itself, but I prefer to directly induct myself into a dreamscape of my choice, which is call a VILD. I do this through visualization, just like a day dream.

During my first WILD attempts I thought that I had to visualize a dreamscape in order to transition into a dream.
I tried to do this rather forcefully as soon as I thought my body was fully paralyzed, which was too soon as I found out later.

Then I tried to do it without visualizations at all, just letting the HI form into a dream, which resulted in my first successful WILDS.
I noticed that during my first attempts, where I tried to visualize, I was nowhere near full SP, which I assume is why it didn't work.

After feeling paralyzed, there are more stages where I gradually loose the sensation of gravity and finally, of having a body at all.
I also feel extremely lightheaded at this stage. (this is where I start trying to visualize)

Keep in mind that these are my own experiences though, and SP is somewhat different for everyone.

As for "scary sensations", I sometimes get some sort of a feeling of uneasiness.
I visualize a very peaceful and calm scene if this happens, usually a beach at dawn.

Do you get a higher rate of success when doing a VILD?

What's been happening in my WILDs lately is I will float in and out of the HI.

Also, I managed to successfully become lucid while doing a WBTB but I skipped the transition stage. I cannot explain why I skipped transition.

EDIT: it was half a WBTB and half a DILD. I forgot that I was doing a WBTB but then remembered a minute later.

Personally, I don't really know if I get a higher success rate with VILD.
I see it more as a method to shape my initial dreamscape.
I suppose using visualization could be an easier transition for some people though.

This sounds to me like you lost consciousness while attempting to transition, that's nothing abnormal.
It's hard to stay on the verge of completely falling asleep, sometimes you won't manage to remain conscious.

WOW! Then would WILDing and WBTBing be helpful even if I fail but get far along enough?

It has the potential to help, yes.
Anything that may steer your train of thoughts towards dreaming whilst in a dream may be helpful in realizing that you are indeed having a dream.

wow! I spoke to a yoga instructor today and will register for lessons soon -- very soon. I want to be able to achieve full sleep paralysis very quickly (as opposed to 2-4 hours depending on how I feel).
