Is my inconsistant sleep cycle getting in the way?
It's my third day trying to achieve lucidity, and I think that my deep sleep is getting in the way of my dream recall.
1. Can an inconsistant sleep cycle affect how deep you sleep?
I have an inconsistant sleep cycle. I go to bed very late (2am), and sometimes wake up at 7am and sometimes at 1pm. Last night I slept from 2am to 1:30pm, and had trouble coming to consciousness in the middle of the night to remember my dream.
2. Can deep sleep affect how much and how well you remember things?
When I come to consciousness at night (I'm guessing between periods of REM), instead of getting my journal and writing down my dream, I sit there, and try to remember it in a half-conscious state, and when nothing comes, I say screw it and fall back to sleep. It's very hard to controll myself and what I do in this state, as if the nothingness of sleep is a giant magnet.
I'm probably answereing my own question, but I'd like to verify with someone, and see if there's anything else that might be the problem.
