Hello, I'm new here.
Hello, I'm Tyler. I have no recollection of ever having a lucid dream, but I've been obsessed on the topic for awhile. My first attempt at a WILD was rather frightening, as I wasn't prepared. I experienced SP for the first time and I didn't know what to expect. I fought it and eventually was able to turn on my side. I had it again a few mornings ago, except it was after a dream I had. I didn't want to go through with it, so I fought it again.
Yesterday, I focused on the idea of trying to pay attention to my dreams that night. I told myself I would remember my dreams after I had them. I DID! I remember three dreams I had last night, and very vividly too. I wrote about them in personal DJ.
I'm going to attempt a WILD early tomorrow morning. I've read through most of the tutorials and I'm pretty sure my plan is correct. I'll let you guys know if I get anywhere!

Welcome to dreamviews Tyler ^_^
Nice job at experiencing SP, that is usually a problem for most people :) most people have creepy experiences too, it's quite common. Just realize everything is okay and nothing can hurt you.
It looks like you are having good luck with lucid dreaming so far, that's really good. It seems like you have good chances for WILD so yes, try that :) and just keep up with dream journaling, reality checks and MILD.
if you have any questions feel free to ask~

Welcome to dreamviews. WILDs can be tricky to attain at fist. Just don't give up!
Good luck.

Hey Tyler, Welcome to Dreamviews!
SP was freaky my first time too. I dreamt that frogs were everywhere in my room!
Anyway good luck on your WILD attempt, and I hope to see you around more! I just made a WILD guide a few days ago. If your interested you can see it here.

Don't resist sleep paralysis, silly boy. Welcome to the forum.
Oh, and Atom Heart Mother is an amazing album.

Welcome to DV my friend. I suggest you don't "fight" SPs because they're like the gates of lucid dreaming. Once you experience SP, don't be afraid and just try to be relaxed and calm. Always think that you're "almost there" when you experience SP. Hope this helps :)

Welcome to dreamviews tbonetyler!
What everyone else has said is more than true, try not to fight SP. But i just wanted to tell you to not get discouraged because you did fight SP. It feels unnatural and can be scary, of course you will try to fight it. What you will have to do is just experience SP a few more times and eventually you will be natural at ignoring everything because you've experienced it before.
Dont be put off because its weird, many people here are experienced lucid dreamers so this part is easy for them, but it doesn't mean it always was! For us newbies, we just have to get used to it, its a new thing.
Good luck man!

:welcome:
Ditto to what everyone else said, and also, you should try DILDing too! I remember when I was fresh meat, WILDing always appealed to me simply because it looks like the fastest way into having a Lucid Dream. This is generally true, but it's more widely accepted that DILDing will get you more Lucids in the long run. Just something to keep in mind :D

Hey Tyler, welcome to Dreamviews!
SP can certainly be frightening and unnerving at first, but as you experience more episodes, it gets less and less scary. If you find the episode unpleasant, you can focus strongly on your physical body, imagine yourself moving your limbs, or my personal favourite - changing your breathing pattern. Since your mind thinks you've gone to sleep, you've probably adopted a sleep-like breathing pattern, which you can actively change while in SP. The final way to get out of SP is to simply open your eyes; that is, if your room is bright enough. The sudden visual stimuli might jolt you out of the episode.
Anyways, good luck with the WILD (if you haven't already done it; I'm a bit late with this post). :P I'm looking forward to reading some of your entries, too!
If you have any questions about the forum, WILDing, or LDing in general, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the advice! I went to bed at 12 and woke up at 6. I just couldn't get the right mindset. I was over-excited like it was Christmas morning. I guess I just need practice. I don't remember any dreams last night, either. I'll start a dream journal once I start having dreams to write about :-) I'll let you know if I have any questions.
