I can only usE one technique and it only works Half of the time!!!! I can only use the one where you say I will have a lucid dream until you fall asleep... I don't get the other techniques!!!!! Omg someone PLEASSSSEEEE help explain this better!!!!! I feel so dumb... I can't even get the WILD down..... Trust me all I want to do is escape to lala McDreamer land and I can't get there without a technique!!!!! Well I could but I couldn't controll it...... So please.... HELLLLPPPPP:panic:
The easiest technique is DILD.... thats just realising your dreaming while dreaming.... You just have to get yourself into the right state of mind... Do reality checks but make SURE that you really question whether you dreaming or not.... Ive said it in another post. The best way is to assume you are dreaming until you prove otherwise with a reality check. My favourite reality check is the nose plug RC. Pinch your nostrils together and try to breathe through your nose. If you can your probably dreaming if not your awake.

WILD is a harder technique to do. Try MILD too. And just so you know, they are all good techniques xD

Don't worry too much about it, some people are natural lucid dreamers and others have to work a little harder at it. :)
Make sure to keep a dream journal, and it's best to make it as detailed as possible and record your dreams right after you wake up. Also do regular reality checks like nito89 suggested. If you have a dream journal already or you remember some of your dreams, try to pick out some people, places, or things that you regularly see in your dreams, and train yourself to do a reality check whenever you see them in real life.
I don't have a lot of experience trying different techniques... it's mostly been DILD for me, with a little WBTB, so I probably can't offer a better explanation of them. Did you try Puffin's DILD Guide? It explains it pretty well.
The common lucid dreamer's misconception is that they need a definitive technique in order to reach lucidity. Use autosuggestion to still your mind and focus your intent solely on lucid dreaming. On top of that, do RCs in waking hours - frequently performing them will hopefully lead to persistent use in your dreams.
Its really simple . Write down your dreams every night. Once you have about 10 then you can look through them for similarities. These are called dream signs. Reality check every time you see a dream sign.
Also when you say it only works half the time then wouldn't that mean you lucid dream every other night?

The ones I had before were accidentally induced and all I knew I could control was myself so all ten of them sucked! (I probably should have gotten a clue I controled other things when I said he will kiss me right now in frustration and he magically appeared behind me and kIssed me on the mouth!)
Back to your original post, training in any one technique takes time and consistency. Lucid dreaming, like every other skill takes time and practice. Again, like every other skill, there are some people who have a natural ability to do with well. For the other 99% of the population, we just have to try and keep training that skill. :) You shouldn't be impatient and should keep up your 'training' :P
