First post, greeting and a question :)

Hello everyone,

I'm 23yo student from Serbia.
When I was 8yo I had lots of lucid dreams. Unfortunately those were mostly nightmares, where I knew that I was sleeping but could not wake up.
Anyway that stopped long ago, and probably those experiences are bringing me into the world of lucid dreams.

I have been working on dreams and lucid dreams for about 2 years. But not in constant. I would be working on it for 2-3 months then a long pause and it was always like that, sadly that is not only the case with dreams but also in other aspects of my life. I'm trying to 'fix' that :)

I've had a few semi-lucid dreams. 1 fully lucid. And 1 short OBE.
Personally I don't support aggressive techniques, like setting alarm clock to wake up and going back to sleep, using those sound and light gadgets to inform you when you are sleeping, using some sort of drugs or medication, etc.
Reality checks and a dream journal did just fine for me.

Now I'm getting back at it again. Lately I had some strange dreams. I was dreaming about having a lucid dreams. Its had to explain. Sleeping Me knows that you are dreaming and has control, but still its not a full lucid dream.
Not as fun as a lucid dream, but still OK :)
So my question is if anyone had some experience like that.

In addition to lucid dreams I'm going to start practicing a bit of a 'healthier' life style.
That will include stuff like:
- doing everything consciously (from breathing and eating to studying and exercising, this is the same like being focused at the present moment in time)
- light everyday exercises
- meditation
(Some parts of the Initiation Into Hermetics by Franz Bardon)

(I know that I should not be using phrases like "I'm going to", I should start right away)

Of course this will all be managed that I can integrate in in everyday life. I'm not a big fan of making big sacrifices in physical world, because in the end we all live in it :)

Since I'm (hmmmm.... donno the correct English word for it) quitter, I'm hoping that I'll manage, to stay with this plan for at least 3 months. To make it a habit, after that I hope that it will be easier. Because I easily get distracted and quit on my goal if its not really important.

It's good that you have previous experience with lucid dreaming, having them naturally as a child is helpful in learning how to get lucid more often!

I've had dreams where I'm very conscious and I make decisions knowing I'm dreaming - but it is only part of the plot. All it takes is a tiny little bit more to be able to turn it into a lucid dream where you have full control! It just takes time and practice, it will happen :)

Meditation, exercise and awareness are three excellent tools to help you get lucid more often. Being aware of your senses throughout the day really helps, and when I started jogging and learning to meditate my LD Count rocketed! :D

To stay dedicated and make it a habit, simply just make sure you keep filling out your dream journal every night, no matter how much, or how little you remember. It will only take a little while but soon you will do it without any ideas of giving up :) Whenever I want more inspiration I take a look at other people's Dream Journals such as Hyu or Puffin

Hi Ivan, welcome to DV, it is not uncommon to have no lucid dreams about lucid dreaming. This just means that lucid dreaming is occupying a large part of your subconscious. This is good because it means that you are thinking about it and are more likely to have a DILD. I am jealous of all natural lucid dreamers like you but it is good that you are willing to embrace it even though it gave you nightmares as a child. Confronting your fears is a big part of dream control and there is nothing in your mind which should be feared. A healthy lifestyle and attitude is also helpful for achieving lucid dreams as Dark_Merlin said. Good luck with having more full lucid dreams and when you work it out maybe you can explain it to me :P Have fun and happy dreaming :)

My question was if someone had dreams about being lucid. So its a normal non-lucid dream about being lucid :) I'm not sure how to explain it otherwise.

"simply just make sure you keep filling out your dream journal every night", should I not write dreams down every morning when I wake up?

I dont think people who had lucid dreams when they were kids are in that much better position then those who didnt have them. Maybe having them gives someone 5% advantage, but 95% is hard work and effort.

Also, dreams I had when I was young were not that great. There was always someone who wanted to kill me. I knew that I was dreaming, but I could not wake up. Eventionally I realized that if I kill myself I will wake up. So everynight I would look for a tall building so I can jump from it. Now it seems like fun, but trust me it was not fun back then.

And I have one more question for someone who had 100% lucid dream.
I had only one, It was very short.
But, the feeling of something being real in that kind of dream and in actual reality was not different at all.
Basically what I wanted to say is that feeling in reality is the same as the feeling in that dream.
So what I wanted to know if the feeling of reality for you was any different then the feeling you have right now?

Ah, well in that case; yes! It's normal to have dreams about lucid dreaming. I've had a few dreams where i've spoken to people about lucid dreaming and never ended getting lucid at all :(

You can dream journal whenever you want! Personally I naturally wake up after every dream I have, so I take the time in the night to write down my dream and then go back to sleep :) But writing them in the morning works just as good

The feeling of dreaming compared to the feeling of reality can be very similar, almost exactly the same sometimes, but dreams normally have a certain 'feel' to them, which is very hard to describe. Dreams can also be more 'real' than when you're awake. Personally I've had my vision increase to the point where I can see further than I normally can, in way more detail. I even saw colours which you can't normally see! :P

I guess that the important message I was trying to deliver was that it isgood to face your fears. I wasjust teasing about being jealous :P
