I could use a few answers

Hello everyone. It's very fun reading about everyone's dreams.

I'd like to start of by noting that I've never trained for Lucid dreams, though I have read about it to some extent.

When I was a kid, my parents told me I had night terrors since I sometimes talked, screamed or even walked while I was sleeping. I don't recall all of mine dreams as a kid but I know they weren't all bad.

When I got older, I got more control over my dreams and an ability to know where in real life certain environments, certain faces and even certain emotions came from.

These dreams aren't exactly the best. I do enjoy them. I enjoy the surrealistic feel, enjoy flying or eating giant meatball with my grandpa just after I turned into a cat by touching water or seeing bizarre things. But it's a real strain in my real life. When I wake up after having a dream my head will be pounding for a while.

My question is this, I don't have control over the dream, but it doesn't control me. I'm aware of my own actions, the people around me. I can go where I want, talk to whoever I want and to some degree, I can manipulate people to do what I want. But I rarely aware that I'm dreaming. If that happens, I either die and wake up for a second or everything changes. I move to a completely new environment, with new people and new problems.


It doesn't feel like a Lucid dream... So what is it? They do happen every night, even if sometimes they are very brief.

lucidity has varying degrees. it could be half lucid, having control, but not being god like, or half knowing it's a dream.

I have many half lucid dreams. the most basic and funniest example would be me having to pee really bad in a dream (usually meaning I gotta take a piss bad in real life), and trying to scramble to find a place to piss in a dream, but when i finally find a place, i don't dare to pee, cuz i know i'll wet my bed. the thing is, i don't know i'm dreaming/laying in bed, but my subconscious somehow "reminds me", and even with that reminder, i still don't realise i'm dreaming.

Lucidity means that you are aware that you are dreaming, so if you were, well done!
To increase control, you probably need more awareness that you are dreaming, we can become aware that we are dreaming and merely not have enough control to do anything.
You should keep an active dream journal if you aren't already, but that's recall, you need more control, so check this out!

Perhaps look at some other DILD/MILD tutorials, that might help you gain that extra awareness you need ;)

If you knew you were dreaming, then it's lucid dreams. Well, if isn't then I'm sure you can learn it really fast!
Like Arch says, then DILD or MILD techniques are great, and I think you should give them a try.
