Noob from Perth here
Hey all,
I've just found out about Lucid Dreaming and hope to be able to do it as soon as possible :)
I play and write music and would love to find out if it's possible for me to write music within a dream.
As a child, I believe I used to dream, and could fly until about the age of 6, where I lost the ability to :? It always felt like the runway I had chosen was not long enough and I could never fly away from whatever was chasing me.
Either way, my first goal is to fly, although this might be rather difficult. I want to play a guitar in a dream also, and see what it sounds like.
I had my first semi-lucid dream last night, I remember telling myself that it was a dream but nothing was happening. I don't think I did any RC's though, might be the problem. I tried creating a sword to kill the person that was chasing me, and then tried using my hand as a gun and 'expecting' her to die when i 'shot' her. It didn't work and I awoke :(
Hopefully I can become a contributing member of this forum, and share my own experiences, if and when they occur.
Carl.

Yoz What's up Carl. The name is Quis. I Think for me when i first started lucid dreaming i was so confident in the information on this site that when I did actually have a lucid dream everything was pretty easy to do. As far as flying goes, make sure that when you do have a lucid dream that there is no doubt in your mind. You have to know that you CAN fly not maybe you can. This is the same with anything you plan on doing have no doubts, in dreams over confidence is a good thing. Confidence is power in your dreams. Remember that and all should be good.
I look forward to hearing what you dream about.

Hi and :welcome: to Dream Views!
Well seems like you know the basics of lucid dreaming and especially practicing All Day Awareness will definitely help with DILDs. By the way, you might want to check out this flying tutorial which may be of interest to you. Anyway, good luck with your lucid dreams! Feel free to ask any questions. :)

Hey, Carlos, welcome to DV! Dream control can be tricky at times, but one thing that works for me is to always expect something to happen with all your heart. Just saying "okay, x will happen" or "alright, I'm going to fly" may work sometimes, but not always. If there's ever something you really want to do, think about it a lot during the day and focus all your attention on that task during the dream. Good luck flying.

HI, and welcome to Dreamviews! :) My first lucid-dreaming goal was to fly, as well! I've heard stories of people filling quite a few lucids with learning how to fly, but if you treat it like a goal, like "I'm learning how to fly! I have practice tonight!" It works pretty well :) I immediately flew in my first lucid, but I thought "Oh no, I'm not going to make this turn!" You crash, just FYI :P I closed my eyes, rewound the dream a bit, then tried it again, sure I would make the turn. It worked
See you around!

Thanks all for the great welcome :D I had no dream recall last night, and I assume no LD's, probably because I went to bed so late (studying for exams :P)
Either way, this is something I want to treat as a long term goal, so I'll try first to fix my sleep schedule which is a bad university student late night, late morning atm.
I feel like I'm in good hands in this community :)
