Hello!
I'm (obviously) new to the forums and I can't wait to get started. I have stumbled upon this sight a few times through Google, but mainly got interested from the sidebar on reddit.com/r/luciddreaming.
I've known about lucid dreaming for awhile but have only recently decided to try and give it a shot. It seems like a fantastic way to relieve pent up stress and anger.
I just have one question. It's about WILD. I think it's probably my best bet to get this right, I just need to know if it will work before I go to bed. I don't have a set bed time but I have to be awake at 5:30 AM
Oh, and I lied, I have two questions. What does addiction classify as? Once a day, or week maybe? I just got out of one addiction and don't want to fall into another regardless of what it is.

Welcome, Jenos!
WILD works together with WBTB (wake back to bed). You need at least 4.5 hours of sleep, before trying WILD. By all means, go ahead and give it a try.
But If I may recommend you start practicing also MILD - mantras, daytime awareness and RCs. This will help you get lucid, even without doing anything at night (well, except the mantra and RC thing before bed).
And also, having a dream journal is essential. If you don't recall your dreams, you won't even know, you had a lucid. It will also let your mind know, that you care about dreaming.
Good luck, let us know, how it goes.

Hi there, Jenos.
You can try your WILD before before, but the reason it's not recommended is because most of our dreams take place in our REM periods. Your first REM period starts 1.5 hours after initial sleep (which means you could possibly be laying in bed for 1.5 hours). Ontop of that, the first REM period is very short, the shortest of the night, with just a few minutes.
Even experienced WILDers do not recommend WILDing at first sleep as even if you do achieve lucidity, the WILD is short and unstable.
As gab stated, a dream journal is well recommended.

Ey there,
Welcome to DV! Here you'll find informative articles about Lucid Dreaming. Anyway, I strongly recommended that you WBTB(wake back to bed) first before WILDing. While it is indeed true that you can directly WILD without the aid of WBTB, it will be 10 times harder compared to a WILD with WBTB.
P.S.
About the addiction thing, it depends on what specific thing you're about to undertake or undertaking

Welcome to Dreamviews! WILD is best done in the middle of the night 5-6 hours after falling asleep, or during a nap in the daytime, 5-6 hours after waking (or sooner/later, depending on you). It's very, very difficult to do it before any prior sleep, right when you get into bed, because you're not in REM yet, and that's when dreams form.
An addiction is basically anything that you feel like you "need" to have/do, and if the need to have or do something starts to interfere with your everyday life, it's an addiction. If you can't go long without something, it's an addiction. Lucid dreaming isn't really addictive unless you have issues with escapism, so I wouldn't worry about that. :)

Thanks for the tips. I gave it a shot last night (Twice actually)
The first time I had my left leg on top of my right one, When the right one started to go numb. I don't know if that was part of the SP phase but i moved my leg just to be sure.
The second time I was on my side with my left arm on top of my pillow when it started to feel numb. But after ~half an hour i moved it and found it was also lacking circulation.
As for dream journal I'll try it. I don't recall any dream at all from last night.
