Help!
I REALLY need someone to help me out. lucid dreaming is so confusing to me. i had another lucid dream that lasted around 1 second. i was running from the cops and i jumped off a big ledge. i was basically gliding in the air and i told myself it was a dream. right before i hit the ground, i blacked out. i didn't wake up i kinda just stopped dreaming.. idk how to explain that.
What i'm gonna ask you guys is to tell me what you guys do to induce lucid dreaming. Tell me if you use WILD MILD or anything else!! because i am really getting no where and i really want to lucid dream.. i really want to fly, that's my top priority.. please guys :(.
i also want to add another question. is it possible to have a really long lucid dream? i mean like half the time you sleep, like 3 or 4 hours..

"How do you induce Lucid Dreaming" is a very open-ended and general statement. DiLD/WiLD/MiLD are probably the most common techniques used. Anymore in depth information can be easily attained by casual browsing the forums or DreamView's Wiki entries.
It may be possible to have a 3 hour dream. I'm not sure if there is anything actually physically stopping you.
But, I will venture a guess and assume that you will never have one yourself. I have never heard of anyone having a continuous 3-4 hour lucid dream, even by lifetime Lucid Dreamers.
Although, it is very possible to chain multiple Lucid Dreams together by bridging WiLD attempts. It is fairly difficult and is not a recommended technique by a novice.

It's actually quite common for the first lucid dreams a person experiences to be short, blurry, fussy, unstable or with an only small degree of lucidity. This is because your consciousness is not used to be overlapping your subconsciousness. With practice, this will end. It also helps to go to bed excited, but not to become over-excited. At some point, the lucid dream will still amaze you, but you will be able to remain somewhat calm and carry on.
About what technique to use, consider reading Mancon's guide. It explains in detail each technique, which one fits you best depending on your preferences and sleep. Although if I may add, I would advice you to practice DILD in conjuction with any other technique. The goal here is not to over-think, it's just only to remain (or try to) aware for the most time possible, while encouraging acts like reality checks and question your surroundings. Just the awareness of being aware is very helpful because it doesn't depend on any scenario or elements to kick in a bit of lucidity.

In lucid dreams, time is not really linear. So you can't pin point how long they are if they are lengthy.
I recommend MILD for you (which is a type of DILD) or DEILD. Both require practice though.
