Ok another major problem for me is i get random itches on my body im like sooo soo tempted to itch omg it itches so bad.... and then my arms get sore or my shoulders start to burn what the hell is going on?

Thnx Aqua, anyways.. when im laying there trying to relax and stay calm like i said before i get random itches and it bugs me really bad, another thing is swallowing my spit does that break concentration? Because I try not to swallow but its hard.
i know whatu mean. i usually have to swallow too. i can make myself not swallow if i try hard enough but it doesnt break my concentration. just do it. it does feel really weird in later stages of wild tho i will admit it
I tried not swallowing but my mouth got really watery and it was hard not to, maybe this was because i drank some water beforehand though. What about random itches do you get that?
Feel free to scratch your itches and swallow when you need to swallow. At this level of consciousness it will not interrupt you too badly and if you try to ignore it, it will just serve to distract you instead and make things worse. Once you get to a point where you are entering WILD you will not have these urges any longer.
Has anyone here actually became lucid from HIT's? Arent HIT's and WILDS two different things? im confused...
basically the same thing. HIt is the method in which you focus on the HI to bring u into the dreamstate rather than just appearing into the dream, i think. very similar indeed
But with the WILD you have to sleep 5-6 hrs then wake up and stay awake for about an hour right?.
that is the proven best technique for a wild yes. research has shown that timing method to greatly increase the chances of an LD.
i wouldnt personally let that be the only circumstance in which you attempt a wild. i suggest not only trying that for sure daily, but also before bed and any other time during the day that you feel you can manage it in. if for no other reason then to get used to doing WILDs, and so you are more prepared come a true wild attempt.
What if you dont use the timing technique and you get a LD are they less vivid?
i think the only reason for waiting is just to greatly increase the chances of having an LD. once your in the LD you can do various things to make it more vivid like rubbing your hands or closely examining an object. they are among the most popular known techniques.
Voice commands also work pretty well. Saying things like "increase vividness now", or "increase lucidity", etc while you are in an LD.
Yeah you can try to WILD any time of day or night...but there are certain times where it is more likely to succeed that's all. And I don't get the difference between this HIT thing and a WILD either I always follow the HI into my lucid dream when I WILD, that's like one of the major steps of the WILD.
Okay I tried the hit technique when i was extremely tired, the only reason i stayed awake was because i was counting like 1...i am dreaming 2.......i am dreaming but since i was so concentrated on that I dont think the HIT's came, so then i stopped counting for a little bit and saw images but felt my self slipping to sleep. By this time I think i was very close to the mind awakee/body asleep stage because I diddnt feel a thing and diddnt hear anything either just thoughts in my head. So how do you do the counting thing while HIT's are appearing?
Ok first of all quit calling it HITs ok...it's HI - short for hypnogogic imagery. HIT is just the technique where you follow the HI into your lucid (which is the same thing as a WILD anyway :roll: )
I've suggested this to a few people...instead of doing the counting thing try singing a song in your head instead. I find that it's a hell of alot less boring than counting and it doesn't keep you too conscious and allows you to slip into the HI better. Once you reach HI you should just go along with it and follow it into your dream. You should be conscious at this point...and the song you were singing in your head may actually start playing as if you were hearing it on the radio. Anyway that's all for now. Yeah. Good luck.

I don't know where the counting thing came into play. The object is to use visual images to lead you into a lucid dream. Yes, it has similarilties to a WILD because you are entering directly into a dream state.
But counting or singing a song may work but it is not the HIT technique. The object of this technique is to fixate on the images, hynagogic images.
