Welcome :)
Figure out what it means and find the reason for the dream.
It's not something you can find in a dream interpretation book or that somebody else can type out. It's something you need to understand yourself.
Dream consists of our subconscious, memories and emotions and becaues of that, things we surpress is still in our dreams. So think back to those time you had the nightmare, what feeling did you feel? What do you associate this nightmare with? It's perhaps a fear of something or an anxiety?.
Only you can understand you.
I had nightmares, but since I started lucid dreaming and more or less started to control my emotions, subconscious and memories not only during the night but also during the day, since I started to become aware of this, they have never bothered me.
I was for example terribly afraid of mirrors before, I had no idea why, but then I realized that it was because of a childhood memory when some other kid told me a scary story about mirrors, and I was afraid of the darkness as well, that is obvious though that is typical fear of the unknown.
So instead I embraced the fear and thought "well I am interested in the unknown why should I then be afraid of it?"
And the mirror fear was just a memory that triggered the fear, not an actual scary event, so I didn't had to be afraid of that either.
Type out the nightmare and think about the meaning behind it, then cope with that and when you have dealt with it it will not bother you anymore, and even if it does you will not be bothered by it.
Sweet dreams :sleepmeditate2:
I know the emotion behind it, it's nostalgia. I've tried writing it down. It has been less frequent but, they still happen a lot. In my dream she is always being taken from me or dying. What could that have to do with nostalgia? Well...I think that's the emotion.
Afraid of losing her? It's just a guess

As MasterMind says, you are the best person to interpret your dreams, because different things have different meaning for different people, as we all have different experiences.
You are not saying much about your dream, but a nostalgia is when you miss something you don't have anymore. If this is a friend of yours you miss and there is nothing you can do about it, you just have to realize that. I will hurt for a good while, I can imagine.
Have you ever tried lucid dreaming? Maybe there would be a way to become aware in one of these nightmares, and figure it out from inside the dream. I find it easiest to become lucid in recurring dreams. Once you notice recurring dream signs, it is just a matter of time until you learn to recognize it is a dream.
No I have never tried Lucid Dreaming, and am a little confused on how to start it. I looked at the Tutorial but there were so many different things to try. The most simple one seemed to be CAT. Do you guys have any other method suggestions?
I would suggest you start with DILD. It's the easiest method. You go to sleep at night normally and while having a regular dream, you will realize you are dreaming. This will happen, because of your very simple training you will do during day.
here is one of the tutorials in DV Wiki
and collection of techniques for DILD
Please check them out and then post your questions, or join one of the classes in DV Academy for personalized guidance. Intro class or DILD, or any of the others, of course. Happy dreams:alien:
So basically constant RC's and awareness induces lucid dreams when I sleep? This sounds so cool but I'm afraid I won't be able to do i.
