My strange introduction
Hey everyone at DV!
I signed up last night after becoming interested in Lucid Dreaming a while back. Like many I wondered if it was even possible, and if it was why isn't everyone in the world doing it?
Last night I opened up DV and started reading. I read all the tutorials I could find and signed up to the forum. I took out a blank jotter pad to start my own DJ. I've had very vivid dreams for years now, almost every night without fail. Even the nights I get drunk or otherwise I can't close my eyes without my mind going, so I learned to enjoy it. I've had bed dreams, but never a nightmare.
Last night I led in bed. I told myself I would have a lucid dream, followed the usual steps before drifting off and had a very vivid dream - but no lucidity. When I woke up I did a RC, but I was awake. I jotted my dream into my dream journal and went back to sleep. I had another vivid dream but again no LD. I woke up to see that only an hour had passed. I text my gf and went back to sleep without updating my journal. Once again I had another vivid dream. To my surprise I looked at the clock and the time hadn't changed...
I checked my phone and there was no sent message... The last time I woke was a dream. I wish I'd done a RC but I was groggy and it just didn't cross my mind, but I could still remember my most recent dream even though I hadn't jotted it down. So I updated my journal again and went back to sleep for the "third" time. This time I had another vivid dream, but it was much, much longer, and I remembered almost every detail.
The moment I woke up I did a RC. It then took me 3 pages to write it down from start to the point I can't remember what happened next...
It'd be great to hear from some of you, I'm loving this site already. Reading all your stories gives me a lot of hope in one day achieving lucidity. :)

Welcome to Dreamviews!
When you think you woke up and sent a text, that was a FA - false awakening. If you start doing RC every time you get up from a bed, you will sooner or later start catching them.
I think only thing you need to get you lucid is more awareness. Start praciticing Daytime awareness. Together with RCs and mantras, it will highten your chances at becoming lucid.
And having a dream journal is essential. Good job on that.
SAT - sporadic daytime awareness
WILD (sageous) everything for a successfull WILD. Also helps for other techniques (DILD, DEILD)
Collection of techniques for DILD
DEILD (dutchraptor)
So please check out the links and post your questions. Happy dreams:alien:

Thanks for the warm welcome, Gab!
I've read many of your posts on the site and found them very interesting!
Thanks, I am currently trying to get into SAT and ADA but it's going to take some getting used to... I know that if I keep at it it will only be a matter of time before I'm more aware :)

It sounds like you are good at paying attention to yourself and your environment. Being able to notice oddities in your surroundings is a key part of lucid dreaming. Anytime you feel something is off, (like a strange time combination), reality check.

Thanks Robot. I became interested in Lucid dreaming not long ago, and after 2 nights of trying my 3rd sleep was - well, something else! I feel guilty for ever doubting it. Thanks both of you for the replies, I've followed the link and kept up with the RCs... a few days later and success!

Well congrats on that! Keep it up!
