Child lucid dreamer/ sleep paralysis

Hi everybody. When i was younger (age 7-13) i began experiencing sleep paralysis. At the time, it scared me, i remember the first time it happened i thought i had got out of bed and went to my tell my mom what had happened, and her reactions and everything, only to wake up again in my bed, i think that was my first OOB.
A lot of these sleep paralysis stuff happened after nightmares, although aside from those Random occurences my dreams were pleasant and vivid... I feel like i had a lot of lucid dreams as a child and i never knew that was what i was doing.

As of the past few months (i am 21 now) i have been researching lucid dreams and trying to achieve them but i have only had one, i was crossing a street when i realized i was dreaming, but the. I was hit by a bus or something and woke up paralyzed... It only lasted about 10 seconds. I have been trying to recall my dreams every morning but my dreams just arent as vivid as they used to be! Is there something i am missing and or doing wrong!?

Hiya amigo. First, welcome to the forums.

On the subject of making your dreams more vivid: there are some things that might help you have more vivid dreams. It seems that cherries are one of them, and I'm pretty sure that some types of cheese are as well. There are also supplements that you can try like B-6, but I haven't used any of these examples to enhance my dreams and so you should take what I say as a grain of salt. :roll:

When it comes to dream recall, though, I'm more familiar with. Make sure that you write every dream you have down, no matter what. Even if all you can remember is "was sitting down on the porch," write it down. Heck, even if you can't remember what you dreamed, right it down. This will help your subconscious mind to remember that you want to recall your dreams upon awakening.

That first experience you are describing sounds like False Awakening, or FA. It's a normal dream, in which you get up and go about your business, only later to wake up again, either again in FA, or for real.

I think what you calling SP are normal sensations you can get when falling asleep or waking up. SP is a disorder, and for majority of population happens 1-2 in a lifetime.

When you woke up and was not able to move - that could have been SP, but rest of it was not. Unless you have a chronic SP disorder.

That dream you had sounds like a DILD - when during non-lucid dream you realize you are dreaming. There are several things you can do to induce DILDs.

Basically, writing dreams in a DJ helps with recall. Practicing daytime awareness, reality checks and mantras will help you get lucid in a dream.

Thanks everyone. The SP i experienced as a child was upon waking up,and happened probably about 20 times, the nightmare that usually triggered it was an old lady knocking at my door and i would not want to answer it because she brought on intense feelings of fear, so i would force myself awake and then be unable to move for about a minute or so... I would usually snap out of it by wriggling my toes....

As for my dream recall thanks for the tips, its funny because as a child i used to like to snack on processed cheese slices, especially before bed. I dont really eat processed cheese any more but maybe i should try that again LOL.
