Hey y'all
I had an account here before, but I must have forgotten my password because I remember having trouble logging in. Long story short, by now I have completely forgotten what my username even was, so I figure I should start fresh.
I have been very passionate about dreaming for about 5 years now, but haven't made too many forays into the lucid world. Lately I have just been trying to get back on track with writing down my dreams each morning, and I think participating here would help motivate me. :)

Welcome back to Dreamviews!
To get back on track, make sure to check out the Induction Methods and Techniques as it will help you a ton :)
Also, do not miss the following!
- Attaining Lucidity -------------------------> Many techniques here as well as users sharing their own experience.
- Tasks of the Month & Year ---------------> This will give you a great motivation to LD as these tasks are fun and gives you a reward for accomplishing them (and that will be an extra goal to help yourself to LD!)
- Lucid Dares ------------------------------->This thread has a ton of lucid tasks for you to do. I have been personally adding some basic tasks to get started plus other some advanced tasks as well. Many other users are adding dares for everyone as well as making personal dares, it is lots of fun.
Best luck and let me know if you got any questions :)

Thanks! I actually did have one question--I have heard about dream journaling on this website. I keep an actual physical journal at home, but how does one dream journal on this site, and are there advantages to keeping one here if you already write in your physical journal?

I think there are three big advantages.
A.) Easy Filing - You can file your dreams under different categories like lucid, non-lucid, nightmare, etc. This makes it easier to keep up with how many lucids you've had, whether or not you are having success at reducing nightmares, or just better organization in general. They all also still go in you DJ in order of when you wrote them so they stay in chronological order too. This way, the files don't split them up but instead act like a quick search sorting mechanism.
B.) Tags - You can use up to ten tags to further file away your dreams. You then get a tag cloud off to the side of your dream journal. This is another good way to sort your dreams and useful for easy look-up. But the best thing about this is that it is a fantastic dream signs tool. In your tag cloud, whatever tags you use most often show up larger and at the front of the list. And as your tags change your cloud does too. So this becomes a great way to keep up with your most frequent dream signs even as they change.
C.) Backup - It's all too easy to lose a physical DJ or have it destroyed. It's simply a good idea to keep a backup.
Two things to keep in mind, if you want to make the DJ private you have to do this from your DJ Settings tab at the top of the page after you click on your DJ. Even if you do this Mods can still see it. Or, if you want to make individual entries private you do this as you make the post. However, your friends and Mods can still see it.
