without stabilization they will tend to wake up and remember only short lucid dreams
without being able to survive the void they will lose lucidity and remain asleep perhaps in a different dream segment or a false awakening and wake up not remembering their lucid dream at all
my biggest mistake in lucid dreaming is that I don't always stabilize, my greatest achievement is surviving voids and tripling the length of my lucid dreams on the other side
So if a newbie finds themselves becoming lucid nearly every night and at the beginning of REM sure forget about them, otherwise it is best to be prepared, and have the skills
