An experienced beginner?
Hi, I'm Rosemary. I found this website yesterday (8.11.05) and discovered that I have been having lucid dreams from my childhood days but didn't know thats what they were. I can normally control my dreams, what happens and who is in them and often have the same dreams but usually with different endings. At times a deep voice cuts in and tells me that I can't do what I want to do in the dream and the dream changes. They are then often very evil and sick or perverted which I hate and I wonder how I can dream about things that I have never seen in real life or sometimes even heard of.
One thing I can't do is wake up when I want to. I know I am dreaming and I try so hard to wake up but it's almost like being at the cinema sat in the middle of a row. I want to get out but can't and have to wait until the end of the film/dream. Do you know how to break out of a dream?
Last night I threw myself out of bed again dodging a bullet which had been fired at me in my dream. A few months ago it was to dodge a car which was trying to run me over - do these things happen to other people too? I went to the doctor because I didn't understand what was happening to me (no-one I've ever spoken to has understood what these dreams were like) and he sent me to a psychiatrist who was no help at all. Finding out a name for all of this is a big relief!

Welcome Rosemary. So let me get this right, you have lucid dreams, but no dream contorl. hmm. Ive never had trouble waking up. When you want to wake up make sure you relaly really belive that you will. If you have any doubt at all, it may not work. trey going through a door that will bring you inot yoru real life. or think of some creative method for waking. Jumping off a building maby? Have you tired any of these?
