I have already read GestaltAlteration's post about how to achieve the WILD method (http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...showtopic=2048) but after 2 weeks of trying I still can't get a lucid dream... I am making very slow progress though, I was not able to achieve the 3rd step at first, but now, I can achieve a 'semi' 5th step (I only feel vibrations on my feet then I feel a prickly feeling (SP??) then it goes away after 10-15 minutes, it never progresses upward)

For those that do the WILD method, how long did it take before you were able to achieve your first WILD?

For those that don't use this method, what method do you use and how long did it take to achieve your first lucid dream using that method?

It is a compilation of all the things that many members of this forum have learned over the years.

It took me three months to have my first WILD, but it does sound like you are getting closer. Maybe you will have one tonight?

Thanks :D I failed again the night I posted this, but at least I had more vibrations... I don't do the thing with waking 4-5 hours after sleeping thing though. And its hard to stop concentrating on breathing when the vibrations start.

How can you stop concentrating on breathing? When I start getting SP, I try to stop concetration of breathing, but since my throat muscles force me to swallow sometimes, its hard because everytime I do swallow, my breathing changes back to manual... Any advice on how to stop manual breathing??

Oh, another question, how much does waking 4-5 hours after you sleep help?? I never do that because I want more time to LD, instead of 2 or 4 hours of LD, and plus, I heard that LDing is short of short even when its all night...

whoever told you that must not know how to ld very well! I have lds that are 15-20 min. some other people have even longer than that!

You dream mostly in REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) but you dont have REM sleep all night, you have it at certain periods in the night. Your first period of REM is 90 min after you fall asleep and is only 10 min long. So with how your wilding you would have to wild for 90 min to get a 10 min lucid. not very fun at all and it takes alot of concentration. As you sleep through the night your periods of REM sleep get longer and closer together. making it possible to complete a wild sooner and have a longer ld :) that is why they say at least 4-5 hours, but you need to find a time that is best for you :wink: definatly makes it easier though!

what works for me is ignoring the breathing altogether.try thinking of somthing else a little more constant. like a clock ticking.

last night I think I got very close...

I had to start over about 2 or 3 times and got very agrivated, to the point that I didn't want to do this stuff anymore...

but when I decided to go to sleep normally, my mind was still thinking about how angry/irritated I was, I fell asleep... or so I thought... I could still move around in real life and still feel and smell, but it was like my thoughts were enhanced to the point that I could hear clearly what everyone was saying, but it was like a normal dream, I could not control my actions. Pretty much, the only thing I could control was what I was thinking.

After a while of my 'half sleep', I started to feel a very rapid, falling extremely fast, sensation, while there was a loud ringing in my ears. This feeling lasted a split second, but a split second later, I felt it again, but also only for a split second.... it was like ON off ON off ON off, both on and off lasting half a second... then it stopped and I was back in my bed.

I did some RCs, but it was real... Was this supposed to happen? I think it was about to put me to sleep, but something was keeping me from it... What happened to prevent me to fall asleep?? And how did i even get that far, when I try, I barely even get any kind of SP...
