So, I go to sleep, and tell myself to wake up after every dream. I can get this far, I usually wake up and record 2 or 3 dreams a night. Last night it was 3. So as I am falling back asleep I have to envision the dream I just had and see myself doing a reality check, and just concentrate on that as I am falling back asleep?
So, example from last night:
My third dream ended with me in a room and a bunch of unknown people celebrating something. I knew 2 of the people in the room. So let's say as I am falling back asleep I envision one of them asking me what time it was and then me looking at my wristwatch or a clock on the wall?
Is this how it works? Thanks.

That's sort of the general idea, yeah. The basic goal is to use mnemonical and autosuggestive devices to try and program your mind into becoming lucid. ONE way is by telling yourself that you will see a dreamsign, recognise it, RC and become lucid - for instance, doing what you described and visualising yourself becoming lucid in the dream you just had. Another way is to use similar mnemonic/autosuggestive devices, like just thinking to yourself "I will watch out for strange things that happen, and recognise them as signs that I'm in a dream", OR "I will remember to ask a DC if I am in a dream". Basically, any way you can think of to program yourself into RCing and generally recognising that you are dreaming.
Try not to use such a strict procedure, else it will get mechanical. Mix it up, try new mnemonics out, just as long as you're trying to program yourself into doing what is neccessary in a dream to become lucid. hope that helps.
