how real can it get?
i just found this site today, and i just found out what this whole *lucid* thing was a few days ago. the idea is... well... AMAZING. ive had about 3 LD's in the past 2 months, but ive never had the ability to manipulate my scene or feel anything in great detail. but as the topic states: how real can it feel? i saw a post about by some guy who was getting his muscles ripped out and was feeling intense pain... im hoping that isnt common, is it? and dont bother pointing out all the links for how to induce lucidity, ive already spent a lot of researching it all, and ive already gotten started on the techniques 8) .

Welcome to the forum Death-Wuad! :aphiusisonecrazySOB:
The kinds of dreams where you feel pain or anything like that example are apparently very rare for most people, so I wouldn't worry about that. :)

If your brain can create senses in your dream than it would certainly be able to create pain wouldnt it?
then again the dreamer if experienced will have control over this......

Welcome! :yumdumdoodledum:
I've been lucky, no intense pain yet!
Now intense pleasure... that's another story!

Technically, lucid dreams can have sufficient realism to make them indistinuishable from real life, even dream phenonema like shifting digits fail sometimes, although such dreams are very rare. Usually, on the onset of lucidity, I feel like I am in a dream. But its often not that crystal clear - many of us have been fooled by false awakenings and the like...

How real can it get, you ask.
As real as your mind can make it. your imagination and will power are the constraints.
Welcome to the board. :P

WELCOME!!!
If you ask me Lucid dreams can be just as real as the waking world, sometimes I feel they can be even more...
I have had LD where I marveled at the how real it all felt,, and it was all too intense...one could say more real that what we consider reality...
