Like so many newbies, I felt the need to try out the shiny "New Topic" button and see what wonders it could evoke. I don't really have anything fun, or interesting, or even slightly meaningful to say, so I'll mostly just talk about myself.
I'm very new to the concept of Lucid Dreaming; I only stumbled upon it about a month ago by hitting the random article button on wikipedia (you see what clicking shiny buttons can do?). My dream recall was very poor until recently... I was one of the people who believed I didn't have dreams. Much to my surprise, it only me wanting to remember my dreams for me to actually remember them (good ol' placebo effect in action :goodjob2: ), and I'm now up to at least one dream per night.
I actually had my first L.D. when I was eight or nine years old, but it was rather pathetic... something along the lines of:
*Hey... hey cool! This is a dream*
*I wonder what I could do? This is so neat! I bet I could do anything I want!*
And then I wake up. :blue:
Recently, however, I experienced my first intentionally induced L.D. It was only slightly better than my first one:
*Hey... that guy behind me is eight feet tall... and how did he get there? Wait! I'm in a dream!*
*Okay, okay, stay calm. Let's try experimenting. Hmm.... Fireballs in every direction, GO!*
Magic fireballs fly everywhere
*Oh, neat, I guess. Hmm... wonder what happens if I... kill myself? GO!*
And then I wake up. So... I'm guessing killing yourself in a dream is a bad idea for beginners (duh).
So basically, what this thread amounts to is a slightly pathetic attempt to get attention... but, aside from that, does anyone have any recommendations for what *not* to do the next L.D. I have? I'd rather not waste one again.
