If it's a nice slow piece, then it might act as white noise which you could concentrate on while you WILD, I say give it a shot.
Quiet music can help you relax, and those help you succeed in the WILD.
I agree with Spartiate music can also be something to focus on to succeed in WILD. When you enter the transition state, then there is a good chance that you will not be able to hear the music, and this will signal to you that you are entering the dream, and help you maintain awareness.
There are also certain audio software and recordings that can help be you by employing Brain Wave Entrainment techniques, subliminal messages, and hypnotic suggestions.
And never feel bad about starting a thread, thats what we are here for!.

Quiet music really helps me out too. But if you do listen to music, try to advoid music with lyrics in it.
i have a tendency to have more false awakenings with the with my music
I see no reason why it would effect your chances, as long as you keep it at a low volume, not too loud because that would keep you awake, keep it at an easy listening volume so that it can help you relax, you could even use it as a focus point so that you can focus on the music whilst attempting your WILD. Go for it with confidence :)
